As in life?
Everything is ok until it isn’t….
U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan isn’t gonna just go with the Trump inspired program of letting his former national Security advisor walk free with the assistance of the US Attorney General William Barr…
With less than. 6 months until the general election , and less the. a year before a new President and Attorney General could be in place?
The Michael Flynn case could slip away from the hands of Trump….
A federal judge is signaling that he might pursue perjury or contempt charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn over his effort to abandon an earlier guilty plea to a charge of lying to the FBI.
The Justice Department moved last week to drop the prosecution of Flynn launched by special counsel Robert Mueller, but U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan threw a major stumbling block in front of that effort by announcing in an order Wednesday evening that he is appointing a former federal judge to present arguments against the government’s unusual bid to dismiss the case.
Sullivan’s order also directed the retired judge, John Gleeson, to recommend whether Flynn should face a criminal contempt charge for perjury — apparently for declaring under oath at two different court proceedings that he was guilty of lying to the FBI, before he reversed course in January and claimed he had never lied.

Flynn is obviously guilty as he admitted and deserves to spend time in jail. I’m so glad to hear that the case isn’t over yet! The ReTurdy people were trying to use this case to “prove” the FBI is corrupt! Conservatives were already celebrating “the downfall of the FBI.”
The ReTardy people never fail to disappoint us, they’ve got more scandals going on than I think any known nation in history. Even during these insane times with the USA leading the world in Covid-19 deaths and mayhem they *STILL* manage to create endless drama!
People are just so tired of this garbage and are dying to throw this orange clown out on his ass if for no other reason than to just have some peace and quiet!

Update in the Flynn case….
The federal judge overseeing the tumultuous case of former national security adviser Michael Flynn has until May 31 to explain his rationale for declining to immediately dismiss the case against Flynn after the Justice Department moved to drop the matter.
A panel of judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia say district court judge Emmet Sullivan must respond within 10 days to a request by Flynn that the higher court force him to drop the case. The appeals court order is the latest twist in a remarkable series of events that have thrown the Flynn case into turmoil on the eve of his sentencing for pleading guilty to lying to the FBI….

The Michael Flynn episode continues…
…Before he left office, Grenell[who was acting director of national intelligence until Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) was sworn into the role] emphasized that he didn’t have access to all the call transcripts, which were products of the FBI, but had moved to declassify the ones he had received.
“I declassified the ones we had. There’s a process – they are coming,” Grenell said Thursday on Twitter.
The move is the latest in a series of Flynn-related declassifications from ODNI. Earlier this month, the agency declassified a list of U.S. officials who made so-called “unmasking” requests that revealed Flynn’s name. Biden, who was vice president at the time, made one of the requests. The National Security Agency (NSA) produced the list, and noted that all the unmasking requests came from people with the authority to make them and were handled according to legal protocols. Despite that, the Trump administration cited the news to claim the Obama administration illegally spied on the campaign. When asked at a press conference what law Biden had broken, Trump declined to say.
ODNI also declassified the full text of an email then-national security adviser Susan Rice sent to herself and to an aide memorializing an Oval Office conversation about Flynn and Kislyak. According to Rice’s email, then-FBI Director James Comey told Obama that he was worried about sharing classified material with Flynn, given Flynn’s numerous conversations with Kislyak. Comey added that he had no evidence the incoming Trump advisor had shared classified material with the Russian diplomat. Rice had called for the full declassification of the email, and since called for declassification of the call transcripts.
Obama, according to the email, told Comey to conduct the investigation “by the book.” But Trump has seized on the episode to allege, without evidence, that Obama committed an unspecific crime against his incoming administration…

I am trying to think of a reason that these transcripts were allowed out of ODNI, and my only guess is that someone in the White House not only wants to make sure Flynn never comes back into government, but maybe to make Judge Sullivan dig in.
Because: Wow.

More on how Having Trump and Flynn fuck up has given away some of the NSA’s sources and methods…
….The declassification was itself highly unusual; intercepted calls are some of the government’s most closely guarded secrets. The documents also revealed highly sensitive F.B.I. abilities, showing that the bureau was able to monitor the phone line of the Russian Embassy in Washington even before a call from Mr. Kislyak connected with Mr. Flynn’s voice mail.
Mr. Ratcliffe’s predecessor Richard Grenell had begun aggressively declassifying documents around the Flynn case in recent weeks, deeming his efforts acts of transparency. He has said that the material should have been made public earlier to discredit the inquiries into Russia’s ties to the Trump campaign.
Intelligence experts have bristled at the disclosures of conversations intercepted as part of spy agencies’ routine eavesdropping on foreign officials. Disclosing the specifics of any conversations threatens to show Russia and other adversaries the United States’ wiretapping abilities.
Some former officials have also said that the disclosures set a precedent for future administrations to selectively release material when it is politically beneficial…
