Maybe somebody took him in a room and reminded him that he could be a private citizen in less than a year…

Barr’s comment came at a news conference to discuss last year’s shooting at a U.S. military base in Pensacola, Fla. A reporter asked about Trump’s suggesting publicly in recent weeks that top officials in the Obama administration, including the former president, had committed crimes.
While noting he was not taking aim at Trump’s comments specifically, Barr lambasted what he called the “increasing attempts to use the criminal justice system as a political weapon.”
“The legal tactic has been to gin up allegations of criminality by one’s political opponents based on the flimsiest of legal theories,” Barr said. “This is not a good development.”

President Trump on Monday said he was “surprised” that Attorney General William Barr poured cold water on a criminal probe into former President Barack Obama — telling reporters, “If it was me, they would do it.”
The president was asked to respond to remarks Barr made earlier Monday where he said a current investigation into the origins of the Russia case would not lead to the scalping of Obama or his former veep Joe Biden and should not become a “tit-for-tat.”
“If it was me, they would do it,” Trump told reporters at the White House of a Department of Justice criminal investigation into his predecessor.
“I’m surprised because Obama knew everything that was happening. I think Obama and Biden knew about it, they were participants, so I’m surprised by that statement. I’m surprised by it,” Trump continued…..
