With indications that the caronavirus hospital;zation have levelled off in NY and some other places…
Vice President Pence Infectious disease lead Dr Fauci have told members of Congress that plans are being worked on for an eventual easing of virus related restrictions….
They did NOT mention any time frame….
The CDC guidelines , not orders, are for social distancing and no work…stay at home policy up un til at least April 30….Some states have no restrictions…Some have out un til June…
In separate briefings with Republicans and Democrats on Wednesday, Pence told lawmakers that the areas hit hardest by the novel coronavirus have started to show early signs of “stabilization,” according to multiple lawmakers and aides on the conference calls.
“They’re starting to see, they think, this virus in some of these known hot spots begin to maybe top out,” Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) told POLITICO. “There are some hopeful signs in New York and other places. But we all know there’s a long way to go.”
Health experts attributed the improving models to the strong mitigation efforts that have been put in place all around the country. The encouraging news comes after Surgeon General Jerome Adams warned on “Fox News Sunday” that the crisis could bring “our Pearl Harbor moment and our 9/11 moment” this week.
Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious diseases expert and who participated in the telebriefings, called to “redouble” social distancing measures. And the task force is also keeping an eye on areas it worries could turn into new epicenters for the virus, including the Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia areas.
Yet during a Q&A on the call with Democrats, Fauci told lawmakers that administration officials are developing a framework for getting back to “normality” and that he expects the White House to issue more guidance about eventually reopening society in the coming days, according to Democrats on the call….
Virus worst case guess numbers dropped….
An influential model cited by the White House has cut its projected coronavirus death toll by 26 percent — along with its forecast of the fatalities for New York’s worst day.
As of Wednesday, the University of Washington’s model now predicts that 60,000 Americans will die in the pandemic by Aug. 4, down from a projection of nearly 82,000 just a day earlier.
Nationwide, the model moves the country’s coronavirus death toll apex to Sunday — four days sooner than expected — when 2,212 people are projected to perish from the deadly bug.
The new forecast still predicts that the Empire State’s apex will be Thursday, but now with 780 people dying of the virus, a decrease from the 878 previously predicted….
Note…
Both of these guys one would assume are under orders from their boss Trump to find positive’s about the the virus situation…
Trump IS bent on getting the country try back to work…
While we ARE all worried about health and the virus…
We ALL would like to have some normal back…
There should be no blanket ‘all clear’, but a phased approach, to make sure there are no mass flare ups of new infections…

More this effort…
Officials said the options being discussed on reopening the country vary widely in scope, from recommendations on benchmarks for when individual states can begin easing restrictions to a nationwide “big bang” that Trump previewed Tuesday evening on Fox News. The officials said the conversations were still preliminary and would likely evolve over the course of the next weeks.
Still, some officials have even begun mulling the type of event Trump may want to mark the day when nationwide restrictions are lifted after he suggested a “big celebration” when the crisis is over.
The extent to which Trump can declare the country “reopened” remains limited. The federal government’s guidelines on closing businesses and restricting gatherings were merely recommendations, and decisions on how and when to actually reopen the country will lie mostly with governors who enacted mandatory stay-at-home orders.
Americans themselves will also need to feel comfortable returning to crowded restaurants and workplaces before the economy can return to normal…
