Forget the virus!
Donald Trump is so scared of Joe Biden beating him with Obama’s help that he and his people are planning to begin holding rallies in Red States leading up to the November election…
Talking about this now, in the middle of the virus crisis, just proves their worries…
But one should not look at this talk lightly…
It IS aimed at the perception that Trump wants a return to normal, while others are talking about restrictions out to 12 to 18 months…
After listening to the scientist’s?
Donald Trump IS pushing back worried about the economy and politics…
NOT about the virus and health…
As usual?
It’s about HIM…
President Donald Trump‘s re-election campaign says it’s still planning to hold rallies leading up to November’s election, despite public health experts warning large gatherings should be put on hold until as late as next year.
Since freezing campaign rallies in March amid the growing pandemic, the Trump campaign has repeatedly pledged that the centerpiece events of the president’s re-election effort will return.
“This coronavirus will pass and the president is looking forward to getting back out on the campaign trail and holding rallies,” Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh told ABC News.
During a digital campaign event earlier this week, which have replaced campaign events for the time being, Murtaugh told supporter to “never fear” and that the president was “certain” rallies would return.
“We will get back to those rallies. Never fear, the president is certain that we’re going to be back out there speaking directly to the American people,” Murtaugh said.
Behind closed doors, Trump campaign officials have discussed holding rallies in certain states that are deemed low risk and even ways to implement social distancing precautions at future rallies, sources tell ABC News. It’s not immediately clear what would characterize a state as “low risk,” or when exactly rallies are planned to return.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told the Washington Examiner there are no plans to scale down the August convention to renominate President Trump.
Said McDaniel: “We are full steam ahead. We’re ready to go.”
She added: “A virtual convention is not on the table for us. So no matter what, we will be having a physical convention — or, a physical nominating process.”

(Republican’s increase using the virus to go after Democrats)
Demonstrators gathered in downtown Trenton, N.J., Friday morning to protest Gov. Phil Murphy’s “stay-at-home” order to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
While it’s unclear how many people were attending the protest, video captured by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce’s Twitter account shows a long line of cars honking their horns along West State Street, across from the the Statehouse and Murphy’s office. The tweet and video, which also showed people waving American flags, have since been deleted.
The words “no more fear” were audible through a megaphone….

The Conservative Action Project (CAP), a group comprised of conservative leaders from around the country, penned a letter to Attorney General William Barr asking the Justice Department to sue states governors for “rampant abuses of constitutional rights.”
“We urge you to undertake immediate review of all the orders that have been issued by the states and local governments across the nation,” the group wrote Friday.
“Although the orders are for the purpose of slowing the spread of the coronavirus, the nature and enforcement of the orders have increasingly raised serious concerns about violating the basic protections and rights guaranteed under the United States Constitution.”

In a City of 1.5 million approximately 200 fat white men show up, most not wearing a proper mask to be stupid in public and compare dick sizes, and this has been playing on a loop all morning — even on MSNBC.
It’s amazing how Fox has picked up the “this is all China’s fault” without missing a beat. And who knew Joe Biden had such a close relationship with China all these years?
Anyone who thinks that people can safely go back to work or anything like a normal life without universal testing is both crazy and selfish. This will take months. So stay calm and carry on.
I just wrote a $1,200 check to our local food bank (in honor of that recovery check we didn’t get and shouldn’t have gotten), and I have prepaid as many people as I can (hair cutters, car wash, yard workers, and favorite restaurants). Everyone that is working or has a steady income should pay it forward. Much more productive than proving your stupidity in public by protesting good public policy.

Good point.
Most of these “demonstrations “ are a couple of hundred people.
Big Deal!
I’m sure Gavin Newsome is going to be influenced by the likes of this.
Look everyone agrees ,I think, that we want to get the country opened again, but it must be down correctly so as to preserve life and the wellness of all.
Instead of hollering “freedom” incessantly. You would think these supposedly “pro life “ Republicans would be chanting that “every life” is important (a frequent chant at anti Abortion rallies).
But one would be wrong.
I hope everyone remembers this gross hypocrisy when this pandemic passes.I know I will.

I personally know a half dozen Trump voters who told me they’re fed up with him and will either vote for Biden or won’t vote in November. If you extrapolate nationwide, there must be hundreds of thousands of folks like them. Why won’t the media ever interview former Trump voters?

I won’t say I don’t care, but if these churches and political rallies were only infecting their own participants, they would be far less blameworthy than they will be when the virus escapes (as it most certainly will) into the rest of their communities, their states and the Nation to whom they profess the profoundest of loyalty.
History’s judgement will not be kind, although they will try their hardest to rewrite obliterate History.
Jack would might call it conscious multiple manslaughter by means of wilful criminal negligence, like leaving a one-year old by itself in the middle of a busy Interstate at rush hour.
If your followers stand in the middle of that Interstate trusting Providence to protect them, they (as their misleader) might be causing a form of reckless mass suicide. When completely-unrelated and non-consenting passengers die from the massive pile-up that ensues, it’s something else.

That same World Almanac says that Mecklenburg County went for Clinton over Trump by nearly 2-1 (well over 60%) — 295,000 – 156,000.
Constitutional and civil-rights geeks will know that, half a century ago, one of the landmark Supreme Court rulings on school integration and busing was Swann v Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education (1971)
The demography and politics must have changed a lot in that half-century.
