Immigration bans….
EPA regulations striped down….
Now we hear of Trump’s admin about to throw out federal rules and regulations for small businesses…
Those cuts could wipe out worker safety and healthcare gains from the past…Things Republican /Conservatives have been trying to do for a long while…
This is another example of Trump going around Congress and Democrats….
And is another thing added to list of things a Joe Biden Presidency would have to deal with putting back in place …
The White House-driven initiative is expected to center on suspending federal regulations for small businesses and expanding an existing administration program that requires agencies to revoke two regulations for every new one they issue, the two people said.
While the plan remains in flux, changes could affect environmental policy, labor policy, workplace safety and health care, among other areas.
The White House is also likely to seek to make permanent some temporary regulations issued by agencies over the past few weeks to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
These policies are likely to alarm Democrats on Capitol Hill and other experts who have long railed against the president’s team and its attempts to shrink federal regulations on environmental and labor issues, among other things.
The White House National Economic Council and its director, Larry Kudlow, are working closely on the plan with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and other officials at the Treasury Department. The Council of Economic Advisers and incoming White House chief of staff Mark Meadows are also involved, as is White House counsel Pat Cipollone and Office of Management and Budget acting director Russell Vought. The people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to frankly discuss a matter that had not been publicly announced, stressed that planning was ongoing and details were subject to change.
The timing for the launch of the regulatory rollback is unclear, but some White House officials want the effort to begin by the end of April or in early May as part of President Trump’s push to “reopen” the economy….

You haven’t heard much lately about the malaria drug hyped by Trump and his acolytes on Fox News as a cure for Coronavirus.
Upturns out that almost all the studies coming out show that it has no salutary effects and ,if anything, might cause worse problems.
I noticed Trump hasn’t mentioned it lately nor has his toadies.

And the stuff is WIDELY prescribed by doctors and hospital across the country also, eh?

Trump fighting with his own conservatives….
President Trump’s on-again, off-again relationship with one of the most powerful figures in conservative media appears to be off again.
For reasons not entirely clear, Trump washed his hands of Matt Drudge, the digital news kingmaker, in a weekend tweet, saying he “gave up” on Drudge “long ago.”
The proximate cause of Trump’s disappointment with Drudge — or more directly, his influential Drudge Report news site — was his promotion of a report stating that the number of deaths in the U.S. had set a single day record. It carried an all-caps headline: “NO PEAK YET.”…

Robert Redfield Director of CDC, said today that when( not if) the coronavirus returns in the fall/winter it will likely be even worse than it is now due to the fact that the flu will also be going around.

Here’s the CDC guy post in the WashPost…
He seems to feel that the Flue season is over for now in America…
The guy is talking about the CDC coming in to be part of the virus/flu containment group…
He admits it doesn’t have the staff to do much on a nation wide basis…
He wants to use Census and Peace Corps and AmeriCorps volunteers to staff up…
Remember?
This guy is working for Trump?
He keeps talking like this and he’s gonna get fired….
Trump thinks there isn’t a problem…
And Fed’s , meaning the CDC, don’t need to help anybody…
In the future AND NOW…

More on Dr. Robert Redfield who IS trying to get back in the game after having his agency cut down to the bone by Trump and the Republicans….
I will NOW admit that I was a bit harsh on the guy in my comments to Jack…
He is trying to do the best he can with NO support from the White House…
I hope the best for him in his efforts…
Which can only help myself and fellow Americans….
Here’s another link on the guys efforts to get into the efforts to deal with the virus’s

Look let’s get down to the bottom line ok?
Your whole performance during this pandemic has been lurching from one extreme to the other, lashing out at medical professionals at times(like yesterday) because you don’t “like” what they’re saying, blasting “models” while amusingly using “models” as a source for your “predictions “ as to deaths.
Now you got mad yesterday because the head of CDC pointed out that this thing is far from over and won’t be for along time. You didn’t want to hear that so you attacked him and started some irrelevant foolishness about the flu.( shades of Trump and FoxNews)
We are in the very early stages of this thing.I would say comparing this to a baseball game, we are in the third inning.
There are going to be other peaks and valleys over the next year or so.There are going to be deaths in the hundreds of thousands before this thing is done .Likely there will be medicines to make treatment more applicable but the reality is that a lot of people are going to die.
The economy is shot.We are heading for economic times that none of us have ever experienced.Extremists on both sides are going to get their wish.Lots of big businesses are going to fail(the Left will rejoice at the plight of evil “businessmen”) and government will shrink because the money won’t be there anymore(the Right will applaud that as the end finally of “big government”).
Maybe a miracle will happen and a vaccine will become available much sooner that is presently forecast.I hope so.Thats the only way out of this dilemma. Most of us are likely to be infected over the coming year or so despite our best efforts. Some will get sick. Some will be asymptomatic or experience just some minor discomfort.
And there’s lots of “ blame” to go around but here we are.
That’s the reality. It isn’t pretty and makes you uncomfortable and yes “mad”.Me too actually.
But to adda a little levity to an otherwise grim situation, heed the words of Ric Flair…
“You may not like it,learn to live with it.”

Glads to hear your view on this and me…
I tend to be more positive here than you and have tried to point to the over hyping of things in the media…

We will see things different sometimes and that IS for the BEST here…

Jack?
Remember the part about me saying Trump was gonna be pissed at his CDC boss?
Aaron Blake
1) Trump says CNN misquoted Redfield. The CNN story was actually based on a WaPo interview.
2) It seems strange that Redfield would claim a misquote, given he promoted the original story yesterday.
My Name Is Jack says
Did Redfield claim to have been misquoted?

Depends on if he wants to keep his job?

White House @PressSec Kayleigh McEnany on CDC Director: “What he said is that flu will re-emerge in the fall. Everyone needs to go out there are get your flu shot. The media’s completely taken that out of context to say that coronavirus will strongly re-emerge in the fall…”

The CDC boss is getting screwed i like i thought.,.

Trump just marched CDC director Redfield out to claim he was misquoted by the WaPo. But in fact, Redfield just confirmed the entire story — below — said he was quoted 100 percent accurately.

Then there is THIS…
You play by Trump rules and you keep ur job…
Period…
“The doctor who led the federal agency involved in developing a coronavirus vaccine said on Wednesday that he was removed from his post after he pressed for a rigorous vetting of a coronavirus treatment embraced by President Trump,” the New York Times reports.
Said Dr. Rick Bright: “I am speaking out because to combat this deadly virus, science — not politics or cronyism — has to lead the way.”…

Ok Jack?
He DID what Trump wanted to keep his job…
He isn’t an idiot..But he should have known better…He’ll be looking over his shoulder for a pink slip….
He’s had a rough 24 hours I’d bet…
He just stood next to Trump and said the following…
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield on Wednesday tried to temper remarks he made about the threat of a second wave of the novel coronavirus, saying the thrust of his comments was meant to urge Americans to embrace the vaccine for the flu.
“I didn’t say that this was going to be worse. I said it was going to be more difficult and potentially more complicated because we would have flu and coronavirus circulating at the same time,” Redfield said at the top of a White House briefing Wednesday evening.
The CDC director’s comments came hours after President Trump complained about a Washington Post report from Tuesday that included the top health official’s remarks, saying the CDC chief would make a clarifying statement.
“The key to my comments and the reason that I really wanted to stress them was to appeal to the American public and to embrace the flu vaccine with confidence,” Redfield said Wednesday…

I don’t have the specifics myself, but on PBS News Hour, Yamiche (sp?) Alcindor said that the only concrete, specific objection mentioned at the briefing was not to the text or truth of the story itself, but to the fact that the WashPost’s headline said a “devastating° future awaited where Dr Redfield had merely said “difficult”.
Although outsiders don’t often know this, reporters don’t write the headlines for their own stories; editors do. [From the newspaper’s side, this just makes sense, but from the reader’s side, it makes no sense at all.[ So Alcindor called this not fake or malicious news, but rather a “copy-editing error”.

“Flu season” is a specific thing.
Covid-19 is not “the flu.”

Both are in fact viruses…
Redfield in his comments view BOTH as having seasons…

There was s protest today in Jefferson City. Curiously the signs I saw on the news demanding reopening businesses didn’t mention Gov Parson–who issued s statewide shelter in place that goes through May 4 at least.
They claimed “Dr. Fauci Has a Shit Eating Grin”–whatever that is supposed to mean.
Weird that these protests of a few dozen malcontents mention Democratic governors but not GOP ones.
Almist like there is an agenda.

Remember Donald Trump’s declaration during that long, endless, rambling, stream of [un]consciousness acceptance speech:

How many still believe that ?
Even fewer than still credit Richard Cheney’s reassurance to the 2000 GOP Convention that:
“Hope is on the way!”
