No surprise again….
She had NO chance for the prize….
(I can here the Sanders pundits saying her support will go to Sanders which to me makes NO SENSE..I see this asa another plus for Biden from the moderates which predicted WHOULD drop out this week)
The race IS between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden….
As expected ?
Reality and Money ARE the decsion maker for the lower tier people…..
Elizabeth Warren will be next…
It’s about delegates now…
Nothing else much matters…
The Minnesota senator had briefly surged in some polls following a strong performance at the Feb. 7 Democratic debate in Manchester. Her campaign had dubbed the boost “Klomentum” and hoped it would catapult her into the top tier of candidates through the rest of the early-nominating states.
Klobuchar finished in third place in the New Hampshire primary, but then a disappointing sixth place in the Nevada caucuses….

No matter whom drops out, Sanders is going to get at least a third of their support. That’s just how it works.
We saw it last cycle with Jeb Bush people and Rubio people going to Trump when one would have assumed they would *all* go with another option.
I would think it would have been more worth it for Biden to see if Klobuchar could get as many MN delegates as she could (at the expense of Sanders) instead of a two day earlier endorsement.
I guess the hope is that they can have a visual tonight of Biden, Klobuchar, and maybe Buttigieg all together arm arm in arm in Texas.

CG?
In recent days I have conssistly called the turn of events….
Sometimes I get Lucky….
As I say in the post?
It’s about delegates …
I still feel that these people dropping out where ALL perceived as MODERATES….
I wouldn’t be surprised if someday some one says establishment Dem’s called these people up and suggested they drop out to enable Biden to go head to head against Sanders and NOT have the moderate vote splinted…
Again?
They where taking votes in the primaries which helped Sanders ….
The Minnesota Senator will oct likely join Buttigieg in endorsing Biden also…
No matter what the Sanders loving media says?
Sanders & Co. HAVE TO BE VERY WORRIED….
This could be slipping away from them right in front of them….
jamesb says
And I will go out on a limb and say Bernie gets California by a sliver margin then the polls suggest and Biden take Texas by a bit more?
CG says
They need to most worry about going into the convention with the most delegates and then having it taken away from them on the second ballot.
Trump and his ilk are stoking those fears. You can’t blame them. The Sanders people are not going to react well if that happens.
CG says
Everything about Biden as a Presidential candidate is a crapshoot.
He is always one gaffe or extremely weird statement away from total panic about him too.
Even his supporters (like Harpootlian in SC) are claiming that he is a step slower mentally than he used to be. Whether true or not, is that exactly something to inspire confidence?
jamesb says
Biden and Gaff’s????
Ha, ha, ha,!
Trump and LIE’S!
jamesb says
CG?
Biden’s ‘bounce’ COULD get a LOT BIGGER for tomorrow….
CG says
EARLY VOTING….
politically deadly for Biden. Just think of how many votes have been wasted because you people love you some early voting.
jamesb says
Biden had better poll numbers early on in California AND Texas….
I posted maybe 60% of Ca vote will NOT be early …
I expect Sanders to win Ca…But NOT by double digits….
The other two out helps Biden’s delegate count there
CG says
It just makes everything a blur to the average American. I maintain that Buttigieg (or Klobuchar) would have been tougher opponents for Trump (and with Bloomberg perhaps the toughest to beat of all, albeit he has zero charisma.)
jamesb says
Trump would have ran OVER those two….
Ur tripping….
CG says
Buttigieg would have been the best person in a one on one debate against Trump. Not even close.
jamesb says
He, he, he…
You ARE tripping….
Pete would NEVER survive Trump & Co’s labelling campaign
CG says
Yeah what would they have said about him that the people who truly care would not have already known?
If Buttigieg would have lost, it might have been over a lack of experience (although that didn’t seem to matter with Trump) or because he is way too liberal. But is there really any issue where Biden is any more “moderate” than Buttigieg at this point? Biden has positioned himself significantly to the left of where Obama ran. That’s still an overall problem for the party.
Maybe if Biden were to defend his Iraq War vote, which he won’t.
jamesb says
U have somewhat of a point CG….,
Biden HAS move to the left a bit ….
CG says
While there was clearly no path for Buttigieg or Klobuchar to win the nomination in the traditional sense (who knows what deals may be cut at the convention), is there anyone here besides james who is willing to say that Biden is a stronger general election candidate than either of them?
I think they both would be tougher foes to Trump, but of course if it comes down to Biden or Sanders, the risk with Sanders is *much* greater.
Biden may very well go to win the nomination, but there is really nothing from the campaign to impress you with him as a candidate. Yes, he got Jim Clyburn to endorse him and that turned out to be huge, but the backlash and fear over Sanders is the outweighing factor in all of this… those who considered Biden then backed off from him, are finding themselves back with him because there’s no other option.
He’s the “safe choice” at 3 am with the bar crowd thinning down.
Scott P says
You aren’t impressed by Biden because you simply don’t like him.
He’s been a prominent Democrat the same 30 some odd years you’ve been a Republican.
CG says
I have far less against him personally than many others in his party.
I just do not see him as a strong Presidential-quality candidate (but yes, less risky than Sanders which is the ultimate matter.) Being a regional candidate and winning a state big (albeit still under 50) because of a powerful endorsement and a huge backlash against your main opponent, when you went into everything as the huge front-runner is not proof that he is some political dynamo.
CG says
For the record, I think Biden-Klobuchar would be a stronger ticket than Biden-Abrams.
Stacey Abrams is now openly campaigning for the Vice Presidency which is practically unheard of.
There would be a lot of pressure for Biden to pick an African-American woman but Abrams, who has never held statewide office would be seen as another big move to the left.
Is Biden really going to lose black voters if he picks Klobuchar? (Frankly, Buttigieg would be an even better pick but that’s not going to happen)
