Bernie Sanders is staying in the 2020 presidential race and planning to debate Joe Biden on Sunday despite a string of recent primary losses, according to a person with knowledge of Sanders’ plans ahead of a Wednesday press conference.
Sanders is speaking in Vermont after losing four out of six states with primaries on Tuesday, winning in North Dakota but falling to Joe Biden in Idaho, Mississippi, Missouri and Michigan — the state where Sanders had made his biggest stand to try to stop Biden’s momentum this week. The primary in Washington state is still too close to call.
The results pushed Sanders further behind Biden in the delegate race for the Democratic presidential nomination, after Biden carried 10 of 14 states on Super Tuesday the week before. The two candidates are set to face off in a debate this weekend in Phoenix ahead of four more primaries on March 17: Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Ohio….

At what point do they start closing down primaries or push them to a later date due to pandemic fears?
Bernie did capitulate today, and I agree with you, he is going to use every once of his 25-30% support to push Biden left and I think Biden will make some concessions, but not many…lots of concessions will be for diplomatic reasons.
Clyburn suggested shutting down primaries yesterday.
Hey, if this goes on long enough and people try to expand the panic, Trump can try to cancel the general election or delay it for a couple years.
Even if that doesn’t happen, Democrats seem to be a lot more afraid of this than Republicans, per polling data, so what effect might that have on turnout?
