South Carolina is shopping up to be VERY important for Joe Biden….
I have repeatedly pointed out that Donald Trump & Co. seem zeroed in derailing the Joe B iden campaign in order to have Trump run against Bernie Sanders or ANYONE else…
To that end?
We have reports that with there being no South Carolina Republican primary?
Conservatives are planning to vote the DEMOCRATIC primary…
The state has open primaries where voters CAN vote in any parties primary…
Republicans say they also want to eliminate the open primary system there….
“In South Carolina, when you have contested primaries on both sides, Republican turnout is usually about twice what the Democratic primary turnout is,” Sullivan told CNN. “So if only half of Republicans turned out and voted that would be equivalent of half the democratic primary turnout.. Even if it’s a smaller number, 10 to 20%, that can have a huge impact.”
Patrick Haddon, a Republican state representative and long-time supporter of closed primaries, says he personally won’t be voting for Sanders in the Democratic primary and that it’s not clear how much of an impact the activist groups will actually have at the end of the day.
“[It’s] one thing to say on Facebook, let’s get the masses out, but totally different to get those people to turn out,” Haddon said. “There has been a lot of Facebook, social media, one-on-one calls. It has been a pretty good effort, but I’m not sure how it’s going to turn out. “
Haddon says that regardless of how successful the campaign really is, he doesn’t think Trump can lose to any of the Democratic nominees. But he does think it would be “more fun” to see a Sanders vs. Trump ticket in November as opposed to any of the other candidates, and that the effort does have the potential to impact the Democrats in their primary contest.
“If a vast number of people come out and vote for Bernie, it might affect (the primary), so I can see where the Biden camp might be a little upset about that.”

We always hear about this kind of stuff going on.
I don’t know of one Republican (and most of my social friends are Republicans) who is going to vote in the Democratic primary.

I admit I considered taking a Republican ballot in 2012 to vote for the weakest Republocan challenger to Obama. I didn’t in the end though and don’t know of anyone who actually did.

Many Democrats switched parties in New England in 2000 to support John McCain over G.W. Bush, rather than choose between Bill Bradley and Al Gore, but that was because those Democrats preferred McCain to Bush far more than they favoured either of the Democratic candidates — and not because they were trying to saddle the GOP with a loser.
And when you try such tactics you run the real risk of getting what you really, really want the least — e.g. Donald Trump for Democrats or Bernie Sanders for Republicans.

Yes ,some of the Republicans I’ve talked with here in SC who,as I earlier commented ,disdained any intention of voting in the Democratic primary said that,if they were to do so,they would vote for Tulsi Gabbard.
