English IS the language of this country…
You may speak others and things CAN be written in several languages …..
But officially?
(Klobuchar made the above statement while campaigning in Nevada which DOES have a large latino population and a caucus vote next Saturday )
Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) says that English should not be the official language of the U.S., a reversal from a vote she cast more than a decade ago.
At a campaign event in Las Vegas on Friday, Klobuchar said she has now “taken a strong position against” the English-language amendment, which she voted for in 2007, according to The Associated Press.
Klobuchar was one of 17 Senate Democrats to vote for the amendment, which would have reversed an executive order by former President Clinton that required government materials to be provided in languages other than English….

My Name Is Jack says
I’m in favor of making English the official national language.
It already de facto is .

Agreed Jack…
Democratic Socialist Dave says
I disagree. The Republic has accommodated waves of immigration from a hundred non-Anglophone countries over the last 240 years without needing an official language.

I agree with your basic…
Most paperwork for commercial things come in several languages…
But as Jack points out…
English IS the American language…
Official paperwork IS IN English…
To succeed you MUST be able to speak it…
And those who do NOT and have children enrolled in the countries schools?
Will see those children of the 3rd generation learn it and gradually lose the home countries language,,,,
It IS America…
THAT is where they ARE…
As the generations pass…
They let go of the past….

For Democrats…
There are ONLY 3 days between SC primary and Super Tuesday….
Could work good for Biden with a win in SC…
