This is my second post on this subject…
I have supported Joe Biden as the best choice to BE President and put the American Government back together again…
I support Biden because he is ready and experienced …
But as we learned in 2016?
Ya have to GET the job with voters before you get to move into the White House…
Right now?
Joseph R. Biden is doing a “Hillary Clinton’….
Emboldened by polls and knowledge that he COULD do the job?
He’s run like it’s just waiting for him…
The guy he would run against got the job because he didn’t know what he was doing and went at acquiring the job beating down anyone in his way…
Joe Biden has been too DAMN NICE for his own good….
The guy has to put on his boxing gloves and take on all comers…
(So far he HAS shown resilience in holding the lead in the race for the nomination)
That also means that he HAS to mount a better media relationship…
Like Hillary he has shyed away from them…
THAT has NOT severed him well…
The Old way of NOT hold events that feature LARGE crowds….
The Old way of NOT flood the media and social media with news, even if it’s not true are going out the window…
Joe Biden still has this…
(He polls the leads in Nevada, South Carolina , Texas and most of theMarch 3rd Super Tuesday state’s)
But he’s gonna have to get better….
The people running against him may not be better equipped to run a government…
But they ARE working the application line better than Joe….
Biden was vice president to Barack Obama, the most popular Democrat in the party. He is a veteran of four decades in the United States Senate. He is liked — even loved — and respected by many people in the party. But Iowa suggests that that’s not enough. His candidacy has lacked a spark of enthusiasm, whether that’s defined as vision or energy or fight.
He has run the way others have as the comfortable expression of establishment Democratic politics. He has piled one endorsement upon another, hoping that surrogates will vouch for him in ways he’s not been able or willing to do for himself. But surrogates can do only so much. In the closing days, Biden struggled to make a compelling case for himself. At rallies, he lacked focus and sometimes appeared distracted, interrupting himself with asides or random thoughts.
He talks about the existential threat to democracy posed by President Trump, his desire to “restore the soul of the nation” and to rebuild the “spine of the middle class,” of wanting to help unite a divided county. But his calling card is electability. His advisers point to polls showing him running better against Trump than other Democratic candidates. He tells audiences that the president is scared to run against him. He says he will beat Trump “like a drum.”
What did that get him? In Iowa, more than 60 percent of the people who participated in the caucuses said electability, rather than compatibility on issues, was what they were looking for in a candidate. Only a quarter of them backed Biden, according to the Edison Research entrance poll. In Iowa, not enough voters were buying what he was selling.
Whether it is in Biden’s character and capability to do the same is what the coming days and weeks will show. He has demonstrated some resilience over the past year. He has personal attributes that he can deploy. No one is a more empathetic figure in the Democratic race than Biden, whose history of loss and grief draws people who also have suffered pain. On rope lines, Biden is pressed for hugs and words of reassurance, and he never fails to deliver them….
…
His advisers can offer ideas and strategies, but only the candidate can summon from inside himself the passion to show voters not just why he wants to be president, but also that he will no longer take anything for granted….

What Went Wrong for Joe Biden in Iowa
His placement behind his leading rivals in the caucuses on Monday dealt a damaging blow to his campaign. Some party officials say it was a long time in the works….

It appears that Joe Biden did NOT campaign yesterday….
But sat down with his people and others to try to get their campaign act together…
Good move….
He’s NOT gonna win NH….
But HE MUST start winning in Nevada and beyond….
Washington Post: “Biden spent Thursday gathered with his top advisers at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, seeking a reset and perhaps a last-ditch effort to save his candidacy, beginning with a debate Friday night. He held no public events.”
“Following dismal results in the Iowa caucuses that have rattled many in his orbit, his campaign is now simultaneously trying to lower expectations here — with some suggesting they would consider a finish as low as third place a victory — while also bracing for a second straight difficult Election Day.”

It would be hard to call 3rd place in NH a victory, but I suppose a potential path to the nomination for Biden is 3rd in nH, second in NV and winning SC. I don’t see any path to the nomination if Biden can’t win in one of the first four states – especially with Bloomberg ready for Super Tuesday.

Although on WBZ, CBS-Boston (whose broadcasts reach the most-populous and most Democratic part of New Hampshire), I’ve seen ads (on local news or Stephen Colbert) for Steyer, Bloomberg, Buttigieg, Gabbard, Sanders and Klobuchar, I have yet to see any commercials for either the Biden or Warren campaigns. Nor do I recall one for Andrew Yang.

Your comment brought back memories Dave. I recall as a teenage Boston Bruins fan, I used to listen to WBZ – home of the Bruins.
