Iowa Senator Joni Ernst warned Sunday that Republicans could immediately push to impeach Joe Biden over his work in Ukraine as vice president if he win the White House.
“I think this door of impeachable whatever has been opened,” Ernst said in an interview with Bloomberg News. “Joe Biden should be very careful what he’s asking for because, you know, we can have a situation where if it should ever be President Biden, that immediately, people, right the day after he would be elected would be saying, ‘Well, we’re going to impeach him.’”

Biden has been sure to mention Ernst’s comments during every stump speech he’s made this week, drawing applause as he suggests that Ernst had “spilled the beans” about Republicans’ real intention in raising the Burisma issue to damage Biden’s candidacy. “You can ruin Donald Trump’s night by caucusing with me and ruin Joni Ernst’s night as well,” he’s told Iowa crowds this week….

This is the sort of comment that someone like James would say about a politician he doesn’t like. It is remarkable that it is coming from an elected official. And in the past, I have heard of Ernst being referred to as a “moderate” Republican.
They don’t exist any longer Zreebs. Ernst is trying to play hard for the base voters like Sally, Tillis, and Gardner are doing. She may have more of a cushion given how old and white Iowa has become. But, she’s on par with Marsha Blackburn and her anti-Vindman screed.

ith Senate Republicans on track to acquit Donald Trump on Wednesday, Washington is bracing for what an unshackled Trump does next. Republicans briefed on Trump’s thinking believe that the president is out for revenge against his adversaries. “It’s payback time,” a prominent Republican told me last week. “He has an enemies list that is growing by the day,” another source said. Names that came up in my conversations with Republicans included Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, Mitt Romney, and John Bolton. “Trump’s playbook is simple: go after people who crossed him during impeachment.”
Several sources said Bolton is at the top of the list. Trump’s relationship with Bolton was badly damaged by the time Bolton left the White House in September. Trump has since blamed his former national security adviser for leaking details of his forthcoming memoir that nearly derailed the impeachment trial by pressuring Republicans to call witnesses….

I’ve been given to understand that the President purports to be some kind of Christian.
Perhaps he should be made to read every word of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew, chapters 5-7) live and aloud on national television. He might choke. On the other hand, in his schizophrenic mind, he might insist that He’s been the most Christian and forgiving person [the most perfect Christian] ever elected to public office.
