I doubt this will stick…..
Gabbard in running for President is a ‘public person’...
2020 Democratic contender Tulsi Gabbard filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Hillary Clinton for defamation over the former secretary of state’s implication that the Hawaii congresswoman is a “favorite of the Russians” during an October interview.
The big picture: In the suit, Gabbard claims that her “political and personal reputation” was damaged by the comment and that it caused her to drop in the polls in key primary states.
Scott P says
Cry for attention on Tulsi’s part.
jamesb says
True THAT Scott….
Keith says
The truth is an absolute Defense in a libel case, let’s go to discovery.
Zreebs says
I don’t see Gabbard winning this.
But since the lawsuit was filed, I assume that Keith will get his wish.
Keith says
I wonder if the Russians will finance her lawyer?
This is her attempt to bring attention to herself, claim victim hood, and perhaps signals her first steps in a third party run. I hear she’s talking to the greens. She’s certainly weird enough to run as a green.
jamesb says
I got a better one Keith?
How much did the Russian’s cover for Trump before?
And how much is he into them NOW?
Some of us ain’t forgetting this ….
jamesb says
Deficit
spending MORE $$$ then you taking in
Keep printing them green backs
You ARE RHE GOVERNMENT….
Zreebs says
I don’t see how Gabbard will run as a Green for multiple reasons 1) I!m pretty sure she is past the deadline to be on the ballot in some states – including California. If she is on the Democratic ballot, she can’t also be on the Green ballot in at least some states. 3) She would have to beat Howie Hawkins for the nomination – and he is highly regarded by Greens
Keith says
The Green Party is on the ballot Zreebs. If she withdraws from the Democratic Primary she is positioned to be any third party’s nominee. Or maybe she just wants a job at Fox News.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard would — as clearly a public figure and public official rather than plain, simple, anonymous, private Jane Q. Citizen — have to meet the very high bar that the U.S. Supreme Court set in New York Times v. Sullivan (1964).
jamesb says
Yup on Gabbard… who is using this as publicity stunt….
