I’ve said this here…..
‘Donald Trump was elected to do EXACTLY what he’s doing…
Fuck with the program in Washington D.C.
And impeachment indictment won’t stop him….
Cause he owns the jury of the US Senate…
And Trump’s thing is to go hard at ANYTHING in his way…
And…
It lives in an alternate universe….
Democrats and all of us will have to deal with this….
It won’t be pretty…
This is a country that is afraid to remove a President that is unfit for office no matter what…
Democrats describe President Donald Trump’s actions toward Ukraine as a “crime in progress” and a smoking gun that is “already reloaded.”
In fact, Democrats say, the need to remove Trump from office is so urgent precisely because he’s certain to continue threatening the integrity of the 2020 election and stonewalling Congress’ ability to prevent it.
Yet Democrats are only just beginning to confront the paradox that their imminent impeachment vote creates: What happens when a remorseless president commits the same behavior that got him impeached in the first place — only this time after the House has already deployed the most potent weapon in its arsenal?
“I have not allowed myself to entertain that sequence of hypotheticals,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), a member of the House Judiciary Committee and a constitutional lawyer. “If he’s just impeached and not removed, we will definitely have to continue to deal with a lawless and ungovernable president.”
There’s no roadmap for Congress to handle an already-impeached president who could have as many as five years left in office. Democrats acknowledge there’s no realistic path or political will to revisit impeachment in Trump’s first term, especially with the 2020 election less than a year away.
But far from being deterred by impeachment, Trump appears emboldened — suggesting impeachment may not be the kind of bulwark against misconduct envisioned in the Constitution ….
Note…
As we ALL know….
Bill Clinton came out ahead in the polls after his impeachment ….
But he was IN his second term already…

Trump’s people think the impeachment will help them…
The characterization of Trump’s expected impeachment as a political upside stands in stark contrast to the tone struck this week by many Democratic lawmakers, who have said repeatedly that they are “sad” and “somber” that Trump’s alleged misconduct with Ukraine has forced such a constitutional sanction. Some Democrats representing districts won by Trump have expressed concern about political blowback, while others have expressed confidence that voting for impeachment was their constitutional duty and more important than politics.
[ campaign manager Brad] Parscale made his impeachment comments during a briefing by several senior campaign officials about the state of Trump’s reelection bid. The officials — most of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal campaign strategy — sought to project an air of confidence in Trump’s reelection chances, using an elaborate slide show to explain why the president was strongly positioned to be elected to a second term….
