As in other situations?
Donald Trump is having people do more things he doesn’t want…..
Kelly Loeffler replaces incumbent Senator Johnny Isakson, who had announced his resignation from the United States Senate, effective December 31, for health reasons…
Republican businesswoman Kelly Loeffler was appointed Wednesday to a soon-to-be-vacated U.S. Senate seat in Georgia by Gov. Brian Kemp (R-Ga.) — despite efforts by President Trump to install a higher-profile ally and lingering concerns among conservative leaders about the political novice’s ideology.
Instead, Kemp in recent days stood by his decision to select Loeffler, with Republican operatives in the state and nationally describing the choice as the governor’s attempt to broaden the party’s appeal with suburban women in 2020, when both of Georgia’s Senate seats will be contested.
Loeffler, in her prepared remarks, rejected the criticism of her conservative record, arguing that she is closely aligned with Trump and his policies….

Loeffler’s first remarks after being appointed were to claim she is “pro Wall and pro Trump”
Keep in mind this is the candidate thought to be more “independent”, less favorable to this administration, and insufficiently opppsed to impeachment.

Well, I agree with her on the “need to drain the swamp”. But I have doubts we have the same thing in mind.

After Trump’s ham-fisted and clueless handling of the Jeff Sessions’ Senate seat in Alabama — first campaigning heavily but unsuccessfully for appointed Sen. Luther Strange over Judge Roy Moore in the GOP primary and then campaigning equally unsuccessfully for Moore after Moore had won the primary, all of which contributed to Roy Moore’s loss to former US Att’y Doug Jones (D) in the 2017 general — it’s hardly surprising that Gov. Kemp wouldn’t be too enthusiastic about taking advice from Donald Trump.
