THAT means he is NEVER gonna be the nominee….
He’s at 4% with black voters right now….
…I want to be clear: Pete Buttigieg is a lying motherfucker.
This is not a misunderstanding. This is not a misstatement. Pete Buttigieg went to the best educational institutions America has to offer and he—more than anyone on the goddamned planet—knows that everything he just said is a baldfaced lie….
South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) called The Root writer Michael Harriot this week after an op-ed Harriot wrote about the presidential candidate’s past comments on minorities and education went viral online.
In the viral opinion piece, which is titled “Pete Buttigieg Is a Lying MF,”Harriot took aim at comments Buttigieg made in 2011 that recently resurfaced.
The remarks came during a televised discussion Buttigieg participated in during his campaign for local office at the time, according to CNN. In one clip of his comments that has been making the rounds online, Buttigieg says that children “need to see evidence that education is going to work for them.”
“You’re motivated because you believe that at the end of your educational process, there’s a reward, there’s a stable life, there’s a job, and there are a lot of kids, especially the lower-income, minority neighborhoods, who literally just haven’t seen it work. There isn’t somebody they know personally who testifies to the value of education,” Buttigieg, a leading 2020 Democratic candidate, continued in the clip.
Harriot wrote that the mayor’s comments prove “men like him are more willing to perpetuate the fantastic narrative of negro neighborhoods needing more role models and briefcase-carriers than make the people in power stare into the sun and see the blinding light of racism.”
“This is why institutional inequality persists,” he wrote. “Not because of white hoods and racial slurs. It is because this insidious double-talk erases the problem by camouflaging it. Because it is painted as a problem of black lethargy and not white apathy.”
The op-ed sparked viral reactions from many social media users and prompted the phrase “Pete Buttigieg Is a Lying MF” to trend on Twitter.
In response to some of the backlash generated from his past comments, Buttigieg told CNN later on Tuesday, “What I said in that comment before I became mayor does not reflect the totality of my understanding then, and certainly now, about the obstacles that students of color face in our system today.”
He also said he reached out to Harriot afterward, telling the network that while he thinks that “some of the characterization of me personally is unfair,” he understands “the concern.”
In his conversation with Harriot, Buttigieg said the author “went into a lot more depth about, I think, the concern of this perspective that makes it sound like, you know, it’s all the fault of students of color or somehow, their families … when the reality is there are so many barriers that our systems put up.”
Harriot also wrote about the call in a piece published later on Tuesday. In the roughly 18-minute call, he and Buttigieg discussed educational inequality in the country, among other issues, he said….

I don’t know if Buttigieg will ever gain much Black support and I would agree ,and have so stated ,that if he doesn’t do much better than he is presently doing among Black voters, then he is now doing then he won’t be the nominee.
This little uh “blurb”however proves nothing really.
Typical of your desperate attempts to smear candidates you dislike,

People should be able to talk about race without being accused of being racist.
The truth is that a lot of kids aren’t convinced that education will work for them, and that is probably especially true among low income minority children.
There are reasons why what Buttigieg said is true:
1) High income parents almost certainly value education more than low income parents,; otherwise they probably wouldn’t have high income. So it follows that their children would likely share their parents values.
2) Minority children have good reason to believe that the system is stacked against them, because it is. Blacks are more likely to be stopped. When the are stopped, blacks are more likely to be arrested. When arrested, blacks are more likely to be convicted. And when convicted, blacks are more likely to receive longer sentences. Black children know this and understandably have less confidence that they will succeed when the system is stacked against them.
I suspect rhat tHe reason James posted this is because he wants people to think Buttigieg is a racist.
Perhaps James can explain what Biden meant when he recently implied that black parents don’t know how to take care of their kids? Whose comment was more offensive – Buttigieg or Biden?

Update….
Buttigieg follow -up….
…His column quickly went viral, and the way things work in politics these days, all of this might have ended there, in a conflagration on Twitter. Buttigieg might have gone into a defensive crouch or offered the classic dodge that his comments had been taken out of context. It all might have become yet another instance of “cancel culture,” as virulent public shaming is now known.

But instead, something remarkable happened: Buttigieg picked up the phone and called Harriot. “I don’t think I’ve ever been called a ‘lying motherf—–’ before,” the South Bend mayor told the columnist, by way of opening what turned into a frank conversation.
Harriot told Buttigieg that in watching that old video, he became infuriated hearing Buttigieg and three other white men discuss “what was broken in the black community without acknowledging who broke it and who refuses to fix it.”
As Buttigieg later explained, he thought Harriot had unfairly characterized him, but “I do understand the concern. What I said in that comment before I became mayor does not reflect the totality of my understanding then, and certainly now, about the obstacles that students of color face in our system today.”….

James, Thank you for encouraging me to keep continuing the discussion. First, Please answer the question I raised above.
Second, I agree with you that your posts speak for themselves.
In this particular post, you yourself didn’t lie or distort as in some of your other posts; you just posted what someone else said that gave a false impression that Buttigieg is a racist. I have no reason to believe that Buttigieg is a racist and I don’t believe you do either. Your only goal is to attempt to destroy the character of the other Democratic candidates in the race.
Let me put it a different way. There are a bunch of articles out there that are very unflattering about Hunter Biden. But these articles don’t tell us a thing about Joe Biden. I recall in the 70s there were articles about Billy Carter that were designed to damage the character of Jimmy. It is OK to question whether Carter was a good President, but even if you did not like him as president, there should be no question about his character. You were correct not to publish the articles aboutHunter Biden here. I have every reason to believe that Joe Biden has the highest ethics, and what his son did is irrelevant. When I screw up it is not because of my parents- who did a phenomenal job with what they had to work with.
You should be there stating that in your opinion, Biden is the clear choice – while simultaneously defending that there is no reason to believe that Buttigieg is a racist; while you should state your belief that Medicare for all is a dumb idea, it does’t mean you have to accuse Warren of thumbing her nose at working class people. you should be able to acknowledge that Warren’s goal is to help the working class, while simultaneously stating you belief that Medicare for all will actuslly hurt the middle class.
Lastly, I think you agree that Biden’s chance at the nomination is less than 50-50. So if you truly are a Democrat in more than name only, then why try to damage the other Democratic candidates’ character with unfair charges or with posts from other people who make these charges?

I have clearly stated here that I feel Joe Biden is the best choice for Democrats to defeat Donald Trump….
Biden , like Trump has issues….
Biden unlike Trump does NOT have a history of reckless, ineptitude in office….
My view of Warren and Sanders are NOT of hate as u have suggested…
They ARE GOOD People…
I do NOT believe that either of those two would be good for a country that will be trying heal from 4 years of Trump…
Their policies are grandiose and unworkable by lawmakers of BOTH parties….
Running a country and running for office are two VASTLY different things as we see….
In MY view Joe Biden’s chances of getting the nomination ARE MORE than 50%….
As I have pointed out months ago….
Warren and Sanders ARE splits the progressive vote, and Warren has peaked as I have pointed out here…
Sanders actually gets more minority Dom vote than anyone else except Biden…
But mainstream Dem’s , who actually vote are STICKING with Biden which seems to be a surprise to most media types who love something different….
On that?
We have ‘Money Mike’ as the new flavor they want to replace Burttigieg, who is about to peak also….
Z?
It’s same story…
The media takes ya out a date and shows ya off…
Then they take out the political knives and cut ya!….
Ole Joe is a study resilience so far…
He’s been cut politically and he’s fine…
Slowly rolling along with Dem’s sticking by him….
He’s My Choice…

I’m gonna add to my speech….
Check the polls at RCP for the Demm primary numbers going into Super Tuesday….
Sure Obama changed things up in 2008….
But do U see ANYONE that could garner the support he did?
So far the media has tried to sell Warren and Buttigieg
BOTYH those lack the support that one MUST have after Iowa and NH….
Joe Biden OWNS that support….
