Too Much too Late?
Is this real ?
Or just symbolic?
A guy who IS a Democrat ….
But ran New York City as a Republican for 12 years?
A guy who will miss most of the delegate chances until Super Tuesday?
Hmmmm?
Do Democrats want their own rich guy as President?
Michael Bloomberg announced Sunday he is running for president, bringing a narrow following but boundless bank account to the crowded Democratic primary.
The 77-year-old former New York City mayor, positioning himself as a centrist alternative to Joe Biden, launched his candidacy in an online video that is part personal story, part attack on President Donald Trump.
“I’m running for president to defeat Donald Trump and rebuild America. We cannot afford four more years of President Trump’s reckless and unethical actions. He represents an existential threat to our country and our values,” Bloomberg declared in a statement Sunday. “If he wins another term in office, we may never recover from the damage.”
Bloomberg became one of the richest people in the world on the success of his eponymous financial news company. He then served three terms as New York City mayor and in 2014 was honorarily knighted by Queen Elizabeth.
The video accompanying his announcement, part of an initial $34 million ad buy, instead seeks to play up his middle-class upbringing in Medford, Mass. The narrator notes he “had to work his way through college” and built his business, Bloomberg LP, from “a single room to a global entity.”….

I have decided on a candidate for President to vote for in the primary: Mike Bloomberg!
We have to win this one, and this guy is very electable.

Good luck on ur choice Z…..

I haven’t decided who to vote for in the S.C. primary.
Bloomberg is a possibility.
My Name Is Jack says
Although I’m not sure he will actually enter it.
jamesb says
Biden IS leading in most, if not ALL of the Southern states polled for Democrats right now….
I doubt Bloomberg is gonna be a serious issue for Biden…
But like Steyer?
Money Mike should keep spending HIS money to make Trump unemployed…
My Name Is Jack says
I very well might vote for Biden.
My main consideration is who has the best chance of defeating Trump.

The disadvantage of not watching the debates is that you haven’t seen Biden struggle – almost to the extent of being in pain – to find the words for what he wanted to say.
Biden currently is competitive against Trump, but most people haven’t watched the debates. My fear is that what we have seen is the best Biden can do. And Trump will not have mercy on him.
It will be interesting to watch how Biden performs in a debate with fewer participants.
jamesb says
Actually i have seen some of the debates…
Not much…
No he’s not a stand out during debates
but actually?
He doesn’t need to be…
You notice ANYONE who knocks him LOSES SUPPORT….
He still is cruising in polls
Zreebs says
One of Biden’s biggest strengths is that he is likeable. That helps a lot on his polling numbers.
jamesb says
Yes Z…..
In debates he just stands there and does his thing gaffes and all and AGAIN?
If u are on stage in the debate and attack him?
It cost ya in polling numbers…
Zreebs says
Well, it only hurts if you distort what Biden said – like Castro. Harris’s attack was also partially disingenuous – although less so.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
By contrast, Kamala Harris just looks mean; I might agree with (or at least not disagree with) some of the things she says, but she frames them as attacks on her fellow Democrats (e.g. Joe Biden, Pete Buttegieg).
And in a November race between the perceived meanie and the Real
(vengeful, vindictive, unforgiving & cruel) Thing, guess who wins?
jamesb says
Yea…
Harris debating Trump WOULD be the BEST….
But?
It ain’t gonna happen…
She’s running on fumes as is most the lower tier people
Democratic Socialist Dave says
I think you misunderstand my point, James — unless you were adding a different one.
Perhaps (though I doubt it) Sen. Harris would do best in a debate with Pres. Trump, but that debate would be the worst nightmare imaginable for the poor viewer (or listener). Unless he or she already likes Jesse Ventura and Hulk Hogan or enriching the McMahons by watching WWE.
Zreebs says
Dave, Most of us understood your point the first time. You write well.
jamesb says
Oh I understand DSD…
I said here that my wife’s impression of Harris IS she’s MEAN…
And yes…
It WOULD be nasty and NOT nice to endure….
