She doesn’t live in the district…
Her parent’s do…
But she actually doesn’t have to…
Just has to be a resident of New York, which she is….
(I don’t know how THAT would play though)
Clinton has been mentioned in connection with the US House seat before….
Stay tuned….
The retirement of longtime New York Rep. Nita Lowey could open the door for a political newcomer with big political name — Chelsea Clinton.
“Is Chelsea Clinton going to make her move?” one New York Democrat asked shortly after learning of Lowey’s retirement.
Page Six first reported in 2016 that the former first daughter was being groomed for the 17th district seat. The district includes Rockland County and portions of Westchester, including the Chappaqua home of Bill and Hillary Clinton.
“Chelsea would be the next extension of the Clinton brand,” a source said at the time.
A spokesman for the Clinton family did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Another New York political source said local Democrats, rather than Chelsea herself, have expressed the most interest in a Clinton 2020 bid….

That district is pretty blue but if Chelsea won she might not win the primary. Presidential kids have sort of a mixed bag of success, sometimes not even making it to the general election. Sure GW Bush won in Texas, but Reagan’s daugher came up way short in a Senate primary in California.

*If Chelsea ran*

And the same mixed bag of success applies to earlier political dynasties such as the Roosevelts (both Oyster Bay/Sagamore Hill-TR and Hyde Park-FDR ), the Tafts and the Longs.
FDR’s son James Roosevelt was elected to Congress, but TR, Jr, never won an election (losing to Al Smith for Governor of New York in 1924.)

It would be interesting….
She lives in Manhattan….
But would get national attention…
Her parents live up there…
They ARE popular and involved locally
I’d rate her chances are pretty darn good ..But NOT a lock….
But she has 3 kids and is making money….
Why would she want to move into the spotlight and draw attention form Trump probably…
She WOULD be carrying her parents on her back for sure….
The Good and the Bad…

Plus the hatred of Hillary Clinton that consumes Republicans would transfer to her. Does she want to deal with that?
My Name Is Jack says
No doubt.
Indeed she could easily replace AOC as the prime receiver of the Trump Republican vitriol machine, mainly from the “entertainment “ section of Fox News.
“Fair and Balnaced” as always.

The hater ‘s shouldn’t be a factor for the election in Blue Westchester….

Who said they were?
My comment was assuming that she is elected.

It seems pretty obvious she is not running for Congress in this district or elsewhere. I think she is smarter than to want to do that.
Her most immediate problem would be that left-wing activists very much dislike her and the “dynasty” she represents. She gets a lot of hate on Twitter, not from Trump fans, but from AOC fans, etc. When she made some semi-critical comments on Twitter about Ilhan Omar, she was attacked at a public appearance and accused of being responsible for the terrorist attack in New Zealand.
My Name Is Jack says
Yes Im sure Trump fans admire her greatly.

No one hates a Clinton more than a Trump Republican.
