Former Vice President Joe Biden holds a 12-point lead over his closest competitor, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, based on a new national poll.
Biden had a slight 1-point uptick in the weekly Morning Consult poll released Monday and now has 33 percent support
Warren’s support remained steady at 21 percent.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) closely trails Warren at 19 percent, unchanged from last week.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) stayed in a dead heat with 6 percent and 5 percent, respectively.
Support for former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) and tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang remained constant at 3 percent each, and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) dipped 1 point to 2 percent.
Biden holds a slightly larger 15-point lead ahead of Warren and Sanders in early voting states, based on the poll.
Biden has 33 percent support from voters in those states, compared to 18 percent apiece for Warren and Sanders.
Billionaire philanthropist Tom Steyer, who is at 1 percent in the general national poll, stands at fourth place in the early voting states with the backing of 8 percent of respondents….

The Republican obsession over Hillary Clinton continues with Trump tweeting that Hillary should run to defeat Warren.

I’d feel much better if Hillary were President instead of Warren. Maybe she should run.

A new Quinnipiac poll finds Elizabeth Warren leading the Democratic presidential field with 29%, followed by Joe Biden at 26%, Bernie Sanders at 16%, Pete Buttigieg at 4%, Kamala Harris at 3% and Andrew Yang at 3%.
No other candidate tops 2%.
In general election match ups, Warren beats Trump, 49% to 41%, Biden leads 51% to 40% and Sanders is ahead 49% to 42%….

I would have liked another Senator from California, true. But I, of course, voted for the Democratic candidate for the California Senate since there wasn’t even a Republican on the ballot.
I think Diane has overstayed and cannot compete in the Republican toxic environment of the Senate today. I would have love my friend Adam Schiff to have run, but he can the next time.

I’ll have a post up about this later this week, but at least in polls over the past 2 weeks, it’s sort of a myth that Biden’s falling in the polls.
Instead, Warren’s rising bigly and taking a bit from everyone: 2 points each from Bernie & Harris, 1 each from Biden, Booker, Beto.
