No Republican voted ‘Aye’….
A bitterly divided House of Representatives voted on Thursday to endorse the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry into President Trump, in a historic action that set up a critical new public phase of the process and underscored the toxic political polarization that serves as its backdrop.
The vote was 232-196 to approve a resolution that sets out rules for an impeachment process for which there are few precedents, and which promises to consume the country a little more than a year before the 2020 elections. It was only the third time in modern history that the House had taken a vote on an impeachment inquiry into a sitting president.
Practically speaking, the resolution outlines the rights and procedures that will guide the process from here on out, including the public presentation of evidence and how Mr. Trump and his legal team will be able to eventually mount a defense.

No surprise here.
I still think there is a chance that Senate Republicans will en masse announce their intention to vote to acquit Trump prior to any actual proceedings.
They will contend the whole process is illegitimate, is nothing but a political move , and that assuming Trump did anything wrong it’s not an impeachable offense.

I SERIOUSLY DOUBT what u biggest the Senate GOPer’s will do?
They actually do….
jamesb says
BTW?
Two House Democrats bucked party lines on Thursday and voted against the impeachment inquiry procedure resolution on President Trump.
Moderate Reps. Collin Peterson (Minn.) and Jefferson Van Drew (N.J.), who represent swing districts Trump won in 2016, opted against the measure, which passed 232-196….

“This president will be in power for only a short time, but excusing his misbehavior will forever tarnish your name. To my Republican colleagues: Step outside your media and social bubble. History will not look kindly on disingenuous, frivolous, and false defenses of this man.”
Well said Congressman. If only I could get past the fact that you praised Edward Snowden…

“Victrc – if we are waiting until 4AM, I doubt Trump will be able to pull out a victory, as the combined forces of the media, Democrats, and #NeverTrumpers like “CG” who don’t believe in transparency may be too much to overcome.”

What a wack job. But not too far out of the mainstream of the GOP today.
Just look at “General” Louie Gohmert’s comments about a civil war yesterday.

Why does this guy think you are opposed to “ transparency ?”
Scott P says
Im guessing to these cultists Trump defines “transparency”
If so they may actually have a point. Trump commits his crimes right out in the open.
CG says
That’s actually a comment from NYCMike. You guys may remember him.
Apparently, I am opposed to transparency because Republicans are not allowed to be part of the “secret impeachment” process. The ones that are in the room for it don’t count I guess.
jamesb says
NYCMike?
Who defected from here?
Couldn’t take it?
CG says
He was there long before he was here.
And he couldn’t get the format to work for him. He wasn’t alone with all the problems you were having with the site.

Oh I understand that for then….
But now?

That’s the risk of running a “business.” If you show up new to a restaurant when they are having a bad day or bad week, the customer is likely to not return.
You’d have to reach out to him and make your own case. I mentioned to him a long time ago that you cleared up some bugs. The format here still remains pretty user-unfriendly though. You know where to find him.

They should tell Goehmert that he is going to lead the charge.
That will send him on the road toward the border fairly quickly.

Accotding to the Washington Examiner Trump wanted to build a Mega Church in 2006.
My guess is fresh off his pussy grabbing he saw conservative evangelicals as easy marks for a grift.
Which they are.

Was that before or after he raw boned Stormy?

Probably during.

During the actual 20 seconds?

Mega Church or MAGA Church?
Scott P says
In a lot of cases they are one and the same.
