Yes….
There ARE Wall Streeter’s that ARE Democrats…
They make a LOT o0f money….
And they know that Sen. Warren WILL be trying to get some of their wealth…
The CNBC piece says they might sit out the primaries….
Or?
Back Trump???
Ah?
Why don’t they just back Joe Biden?
Democratic donors on Wall Street and in big business are preparing to sit out the presidential campaign fundraising cycle — or even back President Donald Trump — if Sen. Elizabeth Warren wins the party’s nomination.
In recent weeks, CNBC spoke to several high-dollar Democratic donors and fundraisers in the business community and found that this opinion was becoming widely shared as Warren, an outspoken critic of big banks and corporations, gains momentum against Joe Biden in the 2020 race.
“You’re in a box because you’re a Democrat and you’re thinking, ‘I want to help the party, but she’s going to hurt me, so I’m going to help President Trump,’” said a senior private equity executive, who spoke on condition of anonymity in fear of retribution by party leaders. The executive said this Wednesday, a day after Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House would begin a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump.
During the campaign, Warren has put out multiple plans intended to curb the influence of Wall Street, including a wealth tax. In July, she released a proposal that would make private equity firms responsible for debts and pension obligations of companies they buy. Trump, meanwhile, has given wealthy business leaders a helping hand with a major corporate tax cut and by eliminating regulations.
Warren has sworn off taking part in big money fundraisers for the 2020 presidential primary. She has also promised to not take donations from special interest groups…..

Would it help Biden for him to declare himself the “candidate of Wall Street?”
jamesb says
Biden STILL leads the nomination race and will continue to receive money from Wall Treet and other financial types…
The comment about Trump is BS…
At least now when they have a choice…
The Iow and NH. polls actually had Biden and Warren within the MOE…
A Cali poll did not..
SC IS STILL a Biden firewall….
To tell ya the truth?
Warren and Sanders SHOUKD be ahead of Biden in the NH and Iowa polls with the demographics in them both…

Once again, there are posts that are coming up as “new” on the right side-bar but cannot be found when clicked on.
This seems to happen when james edits his own posts. It causes the posts of others to basically become deleted.

Who thinks Trump’s approval average is gonna be affect by all this?
Not me..
THATIS. gonna problem’s for Democrats i believe…
CG says
I think his JA is already low and will go lower. His most ardent base will continue to approve but that’s likely less than 40%.
CG says
I think there are a ton of reasons why Democrats have problems with voters, but those are mostly ideologically related.
I do not think they will turn people off by trying to remove Trump. People expect them to do that at this point. Those who will be the maddest are not going to be voting for Democrats anyway.
Democrats need to do the right thing. One day, one of them will be President again and of course will have to act far more ethically than Trump did.
jamesb says
if Trump’s numbers do not change ?
The Dem’s are surly wasting their time and energy…..
CG says
If Trump’s numbers don’t change, Democrats are on the path to beating him.
That doesn’t mean Democrats do not have their own problems which make beating him much harder than it should be (and will of course make it very hard for one of them to govern.)
This Ukraine story is a friggin gold mine for Democrats though. If they can’t figure out how to use this to their advantage, they are kind of hopeless.
jamesb says
by not changing i mean his support like Jack has been pointing out…

Assuming that all 45 Democratic Senators and both Independents vote to convict Trump after a projected impeachment, they would need at least 20 [37.7%] out of the 53-member Senate Republican Conference (caucus) to also vote Aye on conviction or else persuade 30 GOP Senators [56.6%] not to vote. As many people have said, that would require not just a smoking gun (which has already appeared) but a bombshell.
jamesb says
NOT a Good assumption DSD….
Manchin and Jones are NOT locks for Democrats one copied assume…
CG says
ok, but when there are posts from others done in the middle of you doing all that, they basically get deleted.

Bring back Glass-Steagall !! (and Sen. Carter Glass of Virginia was no liberal).
If not, at least send the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (invented by Prof. Elizabeth Warren but loathed by bankers & Wall St.) back into full throttle.
My Name Is Jack says
Wall Streeters opposing Warren will likely be a boost to her campaign.
