Trump has tried to turn the media attention on Joe Biden’s son’s actions…away from HIS action’s as a sitting President maybe withholding aid to the Ukraine as a possible means of getting them to do what his wanted as a political effort to hurt a potential rival in next years election…..(Influence Peddling?)
In his actions Biden is defending his son and displaying some badly need public display of the fight he would need to campaign against Trump if he wins the nomination….

The stronger Biden’s supports appears to be from Democrats….
Joe Biden moved quickly under an arch of balloons and a marching band, past an ice cream truck and dozens of supporters — then he lit into Donald Trump.
At the Polk County Steak Fry, one of the biggest political affairs of the year here, where presidential candidates work to woo Iowa caucus goers, Biden’s early order of business instead was first to wrest control of a burgeoning scandal involving Trump and the Ukraine.
“You should be asking him the question: Why is he on the phone with a foreign leader, trying to intimidate a foreign leader?” Biden snapped at reporters, referencing allegations that Trump had pushed Ukraine to investigate Biden’s son. “This appears to be an overwhelming abuse of power.”
While media coverage over his dealings with Ukraine is swamping Trump and renewing calls for impeachment, it also has singed Biden’s son and is already raising questions about whether it threatens to sully Biden’s campaign for president. Biden’s offensive on Saturday was intended to push back on any media attempt to equate Trump’s alleged actions with that of Biden or his son’s.
Trump has claimed that as vice president Biden demanded Ukraine fire a state prosecutor who was investigating a gas company where Biden’s son held a board position. Multiple news organizations this week reported that Trump had repeatedly pressed Ukrainian authorities to investigate the allegations in a phone call.
Part of the strategy quickly emerging from the Biden camp on Saturday was to forcefully push back on any media attempts to further probe Hunter Biden’s contracts with Ukraine rather than putting the focus squarely on the president….

In interviews with over a dozen Democrats at the event, including many who count Biden as their first choice, most agreed that they have become newly energized in their support after he endured another personal attack from the president…..

President Trump confirmed to reporters on the White House South Lawn Sunday that he discussed Joe Biden and his son during a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25.
“The conversation I had was largely congratulatory, with largely corruption — all of the corruption taking place — largely the fact that we don’t want our people like Vice President Biden and his son creating to the corruption already in the Ukraine and Ukraine has got a lot of problems. The new president is saying that he’s going to be able to rid the country of corruption, and I said that would be a great thing, we had a great conversation.”

Joe Biden appears to be 100% blameless in this for multiple reasons. The IMF and the EU were also concerned with the judge’s corruption, 2) it was not the same judge who had pursued charges against Biden’s son’s company, 3) The charges were dropped before Joe Biden made his statement.
As I understand the issue, the only thing that has any hint if corruption is why did Biden’s son get on the Board in the first place. He did not seem qualified for a role on that Board.
