I have always felt that Democrats should NOT run on ‘guns’ PERIOD….
Beto O’Rourke emphasised that he wanted to actually take away guns in last nights debate…He meant just assault weapons….But that isn’t the headlines have played…
This is what he said…..
“Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,”
Joe Biden remarked that essentially the 2nd Amendment would be a wall against such a thing…
Biden got no reponse on HIS answer…
But almost immediately after O[Rourke said it?
Others on the stage pivoted away from taking anything to background checks and knocking Republicans in Congress…
Obama made sure he did NOT convey that HE would take away anyone’s guns…
Why?

Donald Trump is ALREADY ranting about Democrats wanting to take away peoples ‘guns’ period…
Democrats like Delaware US Senator Chris Coons, a gun owner , is pushing back against the O’Rourke idea from within the Democratic Party …..
Trump is under pressure from conservatives to do NOTHING…
American’s LOVE their guns…
Democrats need to quietly leave this idea alone…
It has no chance and will actually cost them votes….

“To be clear, they should have them,” O’Rourke responded, according to Fox News. “If you purchased that AR-15, if you own it, keep it. Continue to use it responsibly.”
He added: “If you own a gun, keep that gun. Nobody wants to take it away from you — at least I don’t want to do that.”
Since O’Rourke’s run for Senate, there have been several mass shootings across the US, including in his hometown of El Paso, Texas, which he has said has changed his views on gun control….

Question for Corey, should assault weapons be banned?
Many gun enthusiasts defend the possession of Assault weapons as a necessity to protect themselves from the government.
Most of those types are Trump supporters.
In essence they want to be “protected” from the government that they support!

Coons has said out loud he has guns and he does NOT support taking away peoples guns…

Back twenty years ago, the “guns” issue was more bipartisan ;however over the past ten years particularly ,”gun” supporters have been voting consistently Republican.
Further, no one is advocating “taking away” anyone’s “guns”Even ORourkes rant was against an assault weapon.
Support for expanded background checks and red flag laws is at an all time high,yet those who merely recite a rote slogan,ie, Americans Love their guns, refuse to acknowledge such .
