A look at the moderate Democratic Senator….
She is riding in the single digits…
Sen. Amy Klobuchar is kicking off a “blue wall” tour this week, making stops in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, according to a schedule shared with POLITICO.
The Minnesota Democrat has centered her presidential bid on her ability to win back those states — once considered part of a blue wall of Democratic strength in presidential elections — that Donald Trump flipped in 2016.
Klobuchar, a moderate, leaned into her pragmatism at last week’s Democratic National Committee debate in Houston, telling voters that “if you feel stuck in the middle of the extremes in our politics and you are tired of the noise and the nonsense, you’ve got a home with me.”
The tour starts on Tuesday in Philadelphia, where Klobuchar will participate in the 2020 Workers Presidential Summit. On Wednesday, Klobuchar will stop in Pittsburgh, followed by events in Detroit and Milwaukee on Thursday. Her campaign said the senator would focus on economic issues, particularly investing in infrastructure and strengthening rural and agricultural communities….

If Biden falters in the next two months or so?Klobuchar might have an opportunity to make her case as an establishment alternative .
As time goes on ,however, her money is going to run out,a fate applicable to the entire coterie of those running in the low single digits, except for Tom Steyer ,who can stay in as long as he wants to keep spending his money.

Amy Klobuchar actually impresses me, because her critiques of the most left-wing proposals are well-argued and not presented antagonistically.
Given the distribution of active Democrats, I think she’s making a mistake by not making more of an appeal to the progressive wing by stressing areas of agreement and where she differs more on methods, resources or strategy than on ultimate goals.
Being the Second Coming of Joe Califano, and hoping to be the Last Moderate Standing, is a dead end.
¶ The Obama 2012 states that flipped to Trump in 2016 were Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, accounting for a shift of about 100 Electoral Votes — not the landslide that Trump boasts of, but enough. (Mitt Romney had already won back Indiana and North Carolina for the GOP in 2012.)

I think Klobuchar and for that matter Buttigieg have the same handicap as Biden…
The media has a natural affinity for progressives who make noise and arise the enthusiasm they need….
Moderate and centrist Democrats get votes, but only get ignored or worst?….Negative press….
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Without the media, Mayor Pete Buttigieg would be in Seth Moulton territory, so (especially as a former editor and reporter) I don’t put much credence in that Media hates Moderates trope.

In my mind?…
Buttigieg has two things going for him….
He speaks very well and his lifestyle….
But he gets little actual media support…
He’s a moderate
CG says
What makes Mayor Pete a moderate?
He speaks in moderate vocal tones, (i.e, no screaming or arm waving) but his policy positions seem pretty much in line with the others.
CG says
And is “lifestyle” the right word? It seems a little unfair. He is a married man, right? Not really any different than Yang or Castro or Beto except he is younger than them. Is there any evidence that he has some of what should be considered an unusual “lifestyle?”
Just say what you mean.

Right now?….He’s knocked the hard push of O’Rourke on guns…
But More on this…
