Walsh twill join Bill Weld ….
There are now TWO Republicans primarying their party leader for a sew and term at his job …..
We’ll see how many Republicans are brave enough to stand up and join an effort to dethrone Donald Trump….
Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) on Sunday announced he would mount a primary challenge to President Trump.
The conservative radio host unveiled his campaign on ABC’s “This Week.”
“We’ve got a guy in the White House who is unfit, completely unfit to be president, and it stuns me that nobody stepped up, nobody in the Republican Party stepped up, because I’ll tell you what, George, everybody believes in the Republican party, everybody believes that he’s unfit,” Walsh told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “He lies every time he opens his mouth.”
Walsh was elected to the House in 2010 as part of the Tea Party wave and served one term. He began as a strong supporter of President Trump but over the past year has emerged as a fierce critic of the president. On Sunday, he apologized for tweets Stephanopoulos described as racist and sexist as well as his “personal” criticism of former President Obama, acknowledging the role it played in creating today’s politics.
“I helped create Trump. There’s not doubt about that. The personal, ugly politics,” he said. “I regret that. And I’m sorry for that. And now we’ve got a guy in the White House, that’s all he does.”

Maybe the Mooch will fundraise for Walsh….

Scaeramucci recently attended a Biden fundraiser.
But yeah he should support Walsh or another GOP primary opponent now. Then when Trump dispatched them support someone who will actually depose that cancer from the White House.

Mind you, this is like a 2.4 on the 0-to-10 scale of “Trump’s biggest re-election problems”. But Weld was like an 0.6.

Given that a primary challenge to Trump is very unlikely to *actually* succeed, having someone who’s more bombastic / skilled at drawing media attention (say, Joe Walsh) probably causes more problems for Trump than a patrician, moderate Republican would (say, Bill Weld).

Not hard to see what’s going on here: couldn’t stay relevant as a Trump cheerleader/conspiracy theorist, decided there was a media appetite for “Trumpian who now sees error of his ways.” Whatever works…
