With Scaramucci and Walsh banging the drum for a challenger for Trump on the airwaves could they actually get someone besides Weld to primary their party leader?
Washington Post: “The anti-Trump movement inside the Republican Party — long a political wasteland — is feeling new urgency to mount a credible opposition to Trump before it’s too late. With state deadlines for nominating contests rapidly approaching in the fall, potential candidates face pressure to decide on running within the next few weeks. So far, only former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld has declared that he is running, but he has struggled to gain traction.”
“Republicans considering bids, as well as those trying to draft other candidates, acknowledge that defeating Trump appears to be nearly impossible but argue that a recession or an unforeseen change in the political climate could weaken him enough to make a primary challenge more than a Never Trump fantasy.”

Believing that Walsh or Scaramucci represent anyone than themselves is a fools errand in my view.
These efforts are going nowhere as of now.
When a crowd Of say twenty of so prominent Republican Senators ,Congresspeople, and Governors are on a stage saying things like Walsh and Mooch maybe I’ll pay attention.
Right now, this is merely empty rhetoric, at least as far as representing any threat to Trump.

Walsh is said to be leaning towards running against Trump, and will proudly attack him at every turn on moral grounds (unlike what Sanford appears willing to do.) Walsh has made clear he can never vote for Trump again under any circumstance.
If this campaign happens, it will be pretty close to my backyard. I wonder what they could afford to pay me…

So much irony in my having spent so much time in the past hoping he would not attempt to run for Governor or U.S. Senate in Illinois. Now, I am pining for him to run for President.
He’s a good-natured guy (I’ve met him before), I am sure he would get a kick of that and not hold it against me,….

I hope Walsh has the balls to say Trump needs to be voted out at all costs.
I heard Sanford wussed out and said he’d still vote for Trump over a Democrat.

Sanford still hopes for some future in S.C. Republican politics after this little charade ends.
I think he underestimates how this little sideshow of his is playing among GOPers in S.C.though.
The Charleston Post and Courier Poll showed Sanford garnering 2%(yeah you read that right) in a hypothetical primary against Trump in S.C..
Sanford is now being denounced by a host of major movers and shakers in S.C. Republican politics.
This little game he is playing ironically may prove the ending of his political career.

He’s going nowhere and you know it.
Then again lots of people think all sorts of crazy things.
One is that anything approaching even a significant minority of Republicans care about Trumps moral failings.
But hey ,if you can pick up afew bucks in a doomed campaign?Go for it.I would get my money up front however, because after pathetic showings in Iowa and NH, Walsh will be back looking for a new radio gig.
CG says
I’ll be surprised if he gives up his radio show. I’d probably volunteer for his campaign though if he runs. It would be tough to give up an actual job for just a few months, but then again, where can Walsh find someone so close to him geographically that would be so dedicated to the NeverTrump cause? You’d all probably write me reference letters or something..

If he actually becomes a candidate ,he might have to give it up.

Just imagine me on CNN debating Kellyanne Conway….
