The Federal Courts would not go along with his efforts….
So Trump is expected to demonstrate again the outright power of the President to do whatever despite Congress or the Courts ….
President Trump on Thursday plans to announce an executive action related to the census, according to a White House official.
The action is expected to address the citizenship question that the Supreme Court recently blocked the administration from adding to the 2020 census. Trump tweeted that he will hold a news conference in the afternoon “on the Census and Citizenship.”
White House officials declined to discuss the content of the executive action, but said it may not be a full-blown executive order.
Trump has hinted in recent days that he may use an executive order to force the inclusion of a citizenship question on census forms following the high court’s decision in late June.
But any executive action taken by Trump is likely to be met with another round of legal challenges….

I find it a bit difficult to follow this issue.
Can anyone answer or provide some source hopefully as to if the citizenship question was asked on the last census or not or the ones before it?
It seems to me that if it always gets asked, it shouldn’t be an issue, and if it never has before, then it should be irrelevant now.

The question was NOT asked for decades…
The constitution asks for a count of all the people…
The Supreme’s probably would allow Trump to do what he wanted…
BUT?
Turns out some guy just passed away that did a memo to the admin that gave the reason for the question based SOLELY on the political position of changing the count to help GOPer’s….
People NOT answering because of the question hurts states that have more undocumented people …..
The judges knew this …
So they punted the call back down to a judge that ain’t cutting Trump any slack….

Why can;’t they ask both if it has normally been asked?
I remember having to do some sort of census thing online the last time and they asked about 400 questions about all sorts of things.

Read this CG…
It gives the politics of this….
It appears that Trump can’t find it to say he won’t go ahead with the question…
But will try to find a way to screw states with undocumented’s
There will be a post later….

What I have learned is that the citizenship question is normally asked and has been asked in every recent census except 2010 when Obama had it removed. That’s where the big change occurred.
I agree that every person should be counted but if we have almost always asked the citizenship question before, there shouldn’t be too much of an issue in asking it again.
Again, I remember filling out some very long census survey (which I was told was mandated by law to fill out) that asked me how many vacuums I owned and possibly if I ever owned a Sheepdog.

Trump backs off the question…
But will seek to develop his OWN Census results OUTSIDE the 2020 Census process…
