Good….
There ARE entirely too many….
A New York Times analysis of donor and polling data shows that as of Wednesday, seven candidates seeking the Democratic nomination are actively fighting for six slots in the coming debate, which again will be split over two nights, July 30 and 31.
So far, 14 candidates have qualified both by getting campaign donations from 65,000 people and by garnering at least 1 percent support in at least three qualifying polls. These candidates are guaranteed one of 20 spots on the stage.
The seven remaining candidates: John Delaney, John Hickenlooper, Tim Ryan, Michael Bennet, Steve Bullock, Bill de Blasio, Eric Swalwell…..

My latest estimation is that the following have some legitimate change at the nomination:
Biden, Sanders, Harris, Warren, Buttigieg, Booker and Klobuchar.
Bookers only chance would be if Harris implodes;otherwise, she is quickly emerging as the Black candidate in the field.Likewise, Klobuchar is the most likely establishment backup for a Biden collapse.
I have eliminated ORourke from the list. His boom appears to be over.

Apparently, former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel is set to become the first dropout in the Democratic nomination battle.
Gravel is saying that his”campaign”(you mean there really was one?) is “nearing its conclusion” and he is wondering where his campaign funds should go.

Money WILL dry up for most of the candidates….

Gravel’s campaign funds? All 36 dollars?

Some forget that Gravel actually sought the Libertarian Party nomination in 2008 where he lost to RightWing former Republican Congressman Bob Barr of Georgia.

Speaking of Libertarians Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan–quit the GOP and became an Independent on Thursday. I wonder if he will make a run on the Libertarian nomination action next year.

On that subject, there is a funny rumor percolating here in S.C.
Former Governor and Congressman Mark Sanford has been making the rounds here .While some think he may be launching an Independent bid for his old Congressional seat(he lost the Republican primary in 2018),others are claiming that Sanford,as rabid a critic of Trump as Amash, may team up with him on an Independent ticket in the 2020 presidential contest.
CGs heart may just have skipped a beat !
I hasten to add there is no evidence so far ,of anything such as this happening.
