But Biden declared part way thru the beginning of the quarter …..
Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. has raised $21.5 million since entering the presidential race in late April, his campaign said Wednesday.
Mr. Biden’s haul, for the quarter going from April through June, cements his status as one of the financial heavyweights among the two dozen Democratic presidential contenders.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Ind., raised $24.8 million in the quarter and Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont collected $18 million, their campaigns said this week. Unlike Mr. Biden, both Mr. Sanders and Mr. Buttigieg were candidates for the entire quarter; Mr. Biden entered the race on April 25.
Pete Buttigieg has announced the highest amount of money raised from donors among Democrats so far.
Mr. Biden received 436,000 donations from 256,000 donors, his campaign said. The average donation was $49, and 97 percent of donations were under $200, according to his team….
