Donald Trump is working to recreate what he ran his businesses…
That is by having a small number of ‘loyal’ people in charge…
The Trump admin is being run by much smaller numbers of bosses…
A good amount of them are his picks without US Senate confirmation…
President Trump has told confidants he’s eager to remove Dan Coats as director of national intelligence, according to five sources who have discussed the matter directly with the president.
The state of play: Trump hasn’t told our sources when he plans to make a move, but they say his discussions on the topic have been occurring for months — often unprompted — and the president has mentioned potential replacements since at least February. A source who spoke to Trump about Coats a week ago said the president gave them the impression that the move would happen “sooner rather than later.”

The Directorate of National Intelligence was a direct reaction to the independent “silos” in the Intelligence Community that could have but did not put together the necessary pieces to foresee the 9/11 attacks. The FBI had some relevant intelligence, but it wasn’t shared with the CIA or other agencies which had their own fragments of useful information that wasn’t being shared with other agencies (FBI, Justice, Defense, State, NSA, Treasury, immigration, etc.)
The 9/11 Commission, reflecting broad public and Congressional opinion, said that it was vital to break down the silo walls and co-ordinate all that intelligence, so the agencies were made subordinate to a co-ordinating Director of National Intelligence.
But his Office’s work was stymied by anaemic, token start-up support from the GW Bush administration (which had opposed the original idea), and by the fact that one of the most important pieces of the network, the turf-jealous FBI, successfully refused to come under the DNI.
So, although of course none of us have enough information to judge their successes and failures, Christopher Wray and his predecessors have always seemed rather marginal or superfluous.
This makes it easy for any administration to ignore any inconvenient findings and recommendations.
Donald Trump, with his lock on Republican opinion and the Senate, resents and chafes under the Directorate’s dissenting conclusions (which he sees as Christopher Wray’s ungrateful disloyalty), and thinks that now he has the power to implement his lasting desire to bring the Intelligence Community to heel.
After all, he knows more about war than the generals, more about foreign affairs than the diplomats, more about the environment than the scientists and more about intelligence than the spooks who try to advise him. ….NOT ! !

Excellent view DSD!
They didn’t trust him from the jump…
And probably STILL don’t….

As advertised…Trump does NOT like people that tell him the reality of things.
President Donald Trump on Sunday announced that he was nominating Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) to be the director of national intelligence, replacing Dan Coats, who will leave the position on Aug. 15.
Trump does not like those who tell him the truth….

Trump is consolidating his personal control over the intelligence community. Between loyalists Barr and Radcliffe, and pliant CIA and FBI directors, Trump is close to neutralizing intelligence and law enforcement as spoilers in his bid to amass unprecedented executive power…

Radcliffe harshly questioned Mueller during the recent hearing, falsely suggesting that he failed to comply with the Special Counsel regulations and cutting Mueller off when he tried to explain himself….
