The story in the new Emerson poll is second place….
It reflects Kamala Harris’s bounce moving her into a three way tie with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren…
The fight for Democrats it appears will be second place folks….
This is NOT good news for one person….
Bernie Sanders….
He has dropped forma the clear second place to a guy losing his support…
It is good news for Biden and Harris….
But Joe Biden will have to work harder to keep his margins which where always gonna drop….
The first Democratic debate has shaken up the race for the Democratic nomination. Compared to June’s national poll, former VP Joe Biden extended his lead, Sen. Bernie Sanders lost ground, Sen. Kamala Harris doubled her support, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren held steady. Despite Biden losing 4 points of his support from 34% to 30%, he extended his lead in the Democratic primary from 7 points in June to 15 points, as his main rival, Sanders dropped 12 points to 15% from his June number of 27%. Harris saw her numbers improve 8 points to 15%, and Warren ticked up one point from June to 15% of the vote, creating a three way tie for second. The data was collected July 6-8 and has a margin of error of +/- 4.4%.
Fifty-seven percent (57%) of voters said they followed the Democratic debates. A plurality of viewers, 30%, said Harris had the best debate performance. Eighteen percent (18%) of voters said Biden performed the best, 13% said Warren, and 10% chose Sanders. Conversely, when asked which candidate had the worst performance, 19% of voters said Biden, 15% said Sanders, and 13% said O’Rourke performed the worst.
Of those who watched all, some, or followed the media coverage of the debates, Biden receives 25% of the Democratic primary vote, but of those who did not watch/follow debates, he receives 39% of the vote. Conversely, Harris receives 18% of the vote among those who watched all, some or followed the debates, and 11% of the vote among those who did not. Spencer Kimball, Director of Emerson Polling, said “these numbers suggest that the Democratic field is still fluid and that Biden will need to improve upon his performance to maintain his lead”….
Update….
A second poll just dropped….
Former Vice President Joe Biden support among black voters has slid but he still holds a double-digit lead against his rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a new poll.
A Morning Consult survey released on Tuesday finds Biden in the lead with 31 percent support, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) at 19 percent, Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) at 14 percent and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) at 13 percent.
The 7-point drop for Biden in the past three weeks comes as Harris has improved by 8 points in that time. Support for Sanders and Warren is unchanged….
…
Still, Biden remains the top choice among black voters, with 38 percent support, followed by Sanders at 21, Harris at 16 and Warren at 7. …

A new Public Policy Polling survey finds soccer star Megan Rapinoe would beat President Trump in a general election match up, 42% to 41%.
Before you scoff at the poll, an important takeaway: “Trump’s 41% standing is familiar territory. On PPP’s last public national poll we tested 8 of the actual Democratic candidates against Trump, and his standing was in the 40-42% range against all of them. His performance against Rapinoe fits with that general trend.”….
