Of closure Kamala Harris gets a bounce in the first post debates poll….
Will it last?
Will other polling confirm things?
Biden STILL has a comfortable lead…
But is gonna have to be better…..
The percentage of Democrats who say they would vote for former Vice President Joe Biden if the presidential race were held tomorrow slipped by 10 points after the first primary debate.
According to a Morning Consult/FiveThirtyEight poll of likely Democratic voters released on Friday, 41.5 percent said before the debates they would vote for Biden tomorrow, but 31.5 percent said the same thing after Thursday night’s debate.
The apparent decline in support comes after Biden was widely seen as having faltered, including engaging in a stark exchange with Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) over school busing.
Harris herself got a nearly 9 point bump, with 16.6 percent of Democrats saying they would support her after the debate, up from 7.9 percent before the events.
Other 2020 candidates had marginal increases or decreases…..

That is a huge drop in support for Biden.
Biden still has time to bounce back, but in the short term, I think it will drop again a week from now as Biden’s answers are further analyzed and his dropping poll results are observed and discussed.
Just an observation, never use your time in a debate to say “my time is up” – especially when you are given a question you don’t want or you have been in the senate for over four decades.
I think that Harris was and will continue to be quite a force on the debate stage when there are fewer candidates and they are given the opportunity to respond to others comments. She is exceedingly effective in that environment. Exccedingly effective.
May the best man or woman win!

Not so fast Z….
This poll is a snap poll RIGHT AFTER the event….
It is emotional driven….
You need a few more polls to confirm the AMOUNT of LASTING fallout, if there is any lasting…
This said?
of course Biden is gonna lose some support as we close in on the actual voting…
The FACT remains that Joe Biden STILL leads by a 2 to 1 margin…
And so far? (only 48 hours) he STILL. has most of Black vote…
Maybe a Biden/Harris ticket?

I’ve heard people saying that Harris showed in this debate that she might be the best Democrat to debate Trump.
Such assumes,of course, that Trump will in fact consent to debating.
There’s been some discussion that such is not a certainty at all and that the odds are he won’t.
Trump seems ,at least for now , to be pursuing a strategy of simply holding his base and ,with the help of those who don’t particularly like him but hate the Democrats more ,putting together a similar coalition as in 2016.
So why debate?
Well it’s sort of become institutionalized since 1976.Trump though cares nothing for normalcy so that probably doesn’t carry much weight with him. Then again, if he refuses he might be called cowardly and his ego couldn’t take that.
My view is that it’s still more likely that he will for the ego reason I just cited but there’s certainly a political argument to be made that a debate can only hurt him.

He’ll debate….
I don’t think he’d miss it for the World…
It’s the ultimate political entertainment
show…
and he’ll be the STAR!
