The polls keep rolling in with Joe Biden ahead of Donald Trump RIGHT NOW…..
Biden has had a few flubs in the last few months….
But his lead over Trump and the rest of the Democrats continues unabated….
Bernie Sanders also leads Trump in the poll, but by only 1% point….
PPP’s newest North Carolina poll finds that voters in the state are closely divided about the 2020 Presidential election. Donald Trump has a 46% approval rating, with 49% of voters disapproving of him. Trump did 6 points better in North Carolina than he did nationally in the 2016 Presidential election, so it’s not surprising that his -3 net approval rating in the state is better than the -10 or so net approval he has nationally right now.
In hypothetical match ups with the 5 leading Democratic candidates for President, Trump ranges from trailing by 3 points to leading by 3 points. Trump gets 46 or 47% regardless of the Democrat he’s tested against, while the level of support for the Democrats fluctuates based on their name recognition. The two Democrats with leads over Trump are the best known- Joe Biden is up 49-46 on him and Bernie Sanders is up 48-47. Trump narrowly leads the lesser known Democrats- it’s a 47-46 edge over Kamala Harris, a 48-46 one over Elizabeth Warren, and a 47-44 one over Pete Buttigieg.
On average Trump leads the Democrats by 0.2%. North Carolina was the second closest state in the country for President in both 2008 and 2012 and at least at this early stage seems like it could be headed for a similarly close outcome in this election cycle. Still, an evenly divided North Carolina is not a great sign for Trump given his 4 point margin of victory in the state in 2016….

Sorry, but this whole mess is bad for Biden, even if I have some sympathy for the broad point he was trying to make. He doesn’t know what he is up against in his party and he is going to keep falling into these traps.

This is still very early and Biden’s exposure has still been very limited. He is a gaffe machine, which has little to do with his increasing age, because he has always been one.
The Dog is setting himself up for a lot of grief in the months ahead with his “Biden is invincible” bravado. Even if Biden eventually prevails for the nomination, there will be a ton of ups and downs in the process before that might happen.
A week from tonight (and the night before when he won’t be on stage to answer) might be very tough for his supporters. I would suggest perhaps watching from the fetal position, but Biden changed his view on the Hyde Amendment and that might not be safe either.

Joe Biden takes shit like the rest of us…
he is no saint…
He has along career in politics, from different lifetimes…
He leads the field by 2-1…
He leads Trump….
Let me refresh your memory CG?
Donald Trump has done and said things that make Joe Biden seem like a alter boy….
As with Trump?
Those who support Biden?
Will probably see thru efforts to dislodge him from the lead…
This isn’t gonna be it….
he worked as Obama’s VP…..
for 8 YEArs…
he gets points…
he’s earned it being there ..…

What does this have to do with Trump?
He has to beat 23 other people before he has to worry about Trump.
Nobody is saying Biden is a racist, but he sure has some weird thoughts about racial differences. “need an Indian accent to open a Dunkin Donuts”, “Obama is the first articulate and clean black guy to run for President”
Gaffe. Machine.
I am worried about your health with this. It’s going to be a rough, rough ride.

But if you want PDog to be respected as a fact-based venture, the word “bipartisanship” has no factual bearing on this story. If anything you can say he knew how to work with all factions of his party, including the racists.

Biden is comparing working with fellow lawmakers with views to what he wants to do now…
THIS IS HIS point….
You can run back to a different time all u want…
The way the American political system SHOULD work is thru compromise…
Even if you end up making deals with people with different views….
CG says
Biden mentioned two specific lawmakers whom were in the same party as he.
You can talk about that if you wish, but the word “bipartisanship” has no factual bearing.
As usual, you will be stubborn and refuse to admit your error.
CG says
So, if he is President, should he reach out to Steve King?
CG says
*THAT* would be “bipartisan.”
Well, sorta, since the House GOP basically kicked him out of the Conference.
My Name Is Jack says
I’ve always found it amusing that the Trump Congresspeople kicked King out of their caucus for his comments.
Yet still support their Leader who arguably has said things not much different from King.
I think that’s what really has King pissed off.
He’s got a point.
King is nothing but a symptom of the disease that is Trump.
