Another one jumps in?
How many are running?
Does this guy REALLY think he’s gonna be the sweepstakes winner?

Is Joe Biden’s people smiling with the abundance of people in the nomination diluting the mix against his commanding lead….
Bill de Blasio, the Democratic mayor of New York City, announced on Thursday that he was running for president, seeking to show that his brand of urban progressive leadership can be a model for the rest of the nation.
It will be a steep challenge: He becomes the 23rd Democrat to enter the presidential race, and he does so against the counsel of many of his trusted advisers, and in the face of two centuries of history.
No sitting mayor has been elected to the presidency, and if Mr. de Blasio, 58, is to be the first, he must overcome daunting deficits in polls and fund-raising.
His announcement, in a three-minute video titled “Working People First,” comes after months of groundwork that has included visits to early presidential primary states, a fund-raiser in Boston and a circuslike news conference this week in the lobby of Trump Tower.
The video began with what has become the mayor’s tagline this year, as he has flirted with declaring his candidacy. “There’s plenty of money in this country, it’s just in the wrong hands,” he said, before highlighting his accomplishments as mayor and the ways that he has confronted Mr. Trump over immigration and climate change.
“I’m a New Yorker, I’ve known Trump’s a bully for a long time,” he said.
Mr. de Blasio then appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” with his wife, Chirlane McCray, seemingly intent on drawing the attention of Mr. Trump right out of the box, calling him “Con Don” — using Mr. Trump’s tactic of coining demeaning nicknames for rivals.
Asked what set him apart in the big Democratic field, Mr. de Blasio sounded what will likely be his central campaign theme: “Working Americans deserve better and I know we can do it because I’ve done it here in the largest, toughest city in this country.”
It did not take long for President Trump to respond on Twitter, calling Mr. de Blasio “the worst mayor” in the country….

It’s not just that no sitting Mayor of New York has ever become President because no past Mayor and no future Mayor has ever been President of the United States, although many have tried (e.g. Rudolph Giuliani and John Lindsay).
However, several Governors of New York have become President, e.g. Martin Van Buren, Grover Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt and FDR. (And several Governors have been nominated for President but lost the general election, e.g. Al Smith in 1928 and Thomas Dewey in 1944 & 1948.)

I don’t see DeBlasio as a major candidate.
My personal preferences at this time?
1.)Biden
2.) Klobuchar
3.)Bullock
4.) Hickenlooper
5.)Delaney.
I will hasten to add that,as of now, none of the above ,save Biden, would meet the criteria, of a”major” candidate;however, I feel that if any of them were to gain traction, they would be formidable daboe candidates against Trump in the General election.

I’ve visited the HHR site a few times and have seen CG post over there every once in a while.
It’s usually him against the rest of the posters ,most of whom are essentially Trump cultists and ,even the ones who aren’t ,defend Trump to varying degrees.

While she doesn’t want to hear this?
Kamala Harris as Biden’s VP choice I can live with….
I still consider Sanders in the first tier by unable to get the nomination from a party he doesn’t belong to…

First, it’s good to hear from jack. I am glad that things are going well.
I don’t know how easy it might be to make this site “active” again, but I will have to see if my login/password is available on the work computer, because I might have forgotten it. I probably will be fairly busy this week though.
I’ve been taking a bit of a break from arguing non-stop with Trump cultists (the assessment of HHR is accurate) and then I am reminded by Zreebs’s post how there is truly a sad bipartisan statement of our times in regards to politics.
Discussing the ups and downs of the upcoming race can of course be fun though and I hope anyone who wishes to do so will find a way to enjoy it.
