We do our read backs on the Democratic front runner for next years Democratic Presidential nomination that appears to be already in general campaign mode….
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D), who is running for president, took aim Sunday at the field’s front-runner, former Vice President Joe Biden, over his support for the 1994 crime bill.
Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” de Blasio called Biden’s work on the bill a “huge mistake.”
“That crime bill was one of the foundations of mass incarceration and a very painful era in our nation’s history,” he said. “[Biden] and anyone else has to be accountable for every vote they take and what’s on their record … I think that was a huge mistake.”
De Blasio added that the crime bill and other federal policy were part of why “untold thousands of people and families had their lives entirely disrupted, and in many ways destroyed.”
“We’ve got to break out of that, and anyone responsible has to be accountable,” he said….
Note….
It was President Bill Clinton’s crime bill….
A LOT of Blacks supported the bill as a help for them….

Democratic strategist James Carville said in an interview that aired Sunday that former Vice President Joe Biden represents what Democrats have been familiar with rather than “generational change”
“Biden represents stability…but doesn’t represent generational change,” Carville told radio host John Catsimatidis that aired on AM 970 in New York.
He added that a big question in the race is whether Biden will be able to hold onto his lead or whether he will falter and open up the race to one of his many competitors for the nomination.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is expected to unveil his climate change plan any day now, and he’s under increasing pressure from environmentalists who want him to take a strong position against fossil fuels.
The former Delaware senator has touted his decades-long environmental record in Congress and the Obama White House, but progressives argue that his approach to climate change is outdated and his record is anything but spotless.
Biden’s position on climate could open him up to further attacks from the left wing of the party and create an obstacle to winning the party’s nomination, especially since the environment is the main concern for liberal voters….

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Sunday that President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un “agree in their assessment” of former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate.
“I think they agree in their assessment of former Vice President Joe Biden,” Sanders said on NBC’s “Meet The Press.” “Again, the president’s focus in this process is the relationship he has and making sure we continue on the path towards denuclearization.”
Host Chuck Todd pressed Sanders on what “message” Trump is sending by taking Kim’s word about his potential 2020 challenger.
“The president doesn’t need somebody else to give him an assessment of Joe Biden,” Sanders responded. “He’s given his own assessment a number of times.”…
One month into his presidential run, former Vice President Joe Biden is topping national polls while showing a Teflon-like quality to survive criticism lobbed against him.
Biden has a 17-point edge in the RealClearPolitics average of national polls. While his lead has actually fallen a bit since it spiked after his entry into the race on April 25, it remains healthy and steady.
He also leads in all of the early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada and is clobbering rivals in South Carolina….
