Trump…America.. and the American Political Media…PDog Op-ED

This morning something kinda dropped on me….

The report that Democratic candidates for office next year seldom are asked by voters they encounter about the Mueller report…And Donald Trump….

Wow!

REALLY?

Yup….

Folks?… there seems to be a disconnect going on in America….

This dog reads in the media  political stories everyday….

If someone from somewhere who never heard of American politics , or read a newspaper or social media on line looked in?

They’d JUST SEE the Donald J. Trump show playing across the place….

Don’t matter if it’s about the guy lying….cheating…or trying to do something crazy or stupid….

 

It HAS occurred to me, and others, that the American media IS Trump’s best friend…

While he beats on them and does things every modern President would refrain from?

The media dutifully gives him the headline Over and OVER….

Doesn’t matter what else happens in America or the world….

‘The Donald ‘ show play’s on the main stage….

 

This comes to my point….

We have a guy, who at best,  gets the approval of maybe 42% of America…

We have a guy that lost the popular vote to get elected….

We have a guy that plainly works to please only HIS base….

A man who swore on a bible  in front of millions that he would support and protect a country of 300 million plus, and would follow the rules…..

Neither of those things seem to be happening…

 

But that seems NOT to be the point…

Trump has become the main. attraction to the what we American’s, and the World ,  for that matter to see, and read about EVERYDAY….

THAT IS a problem….

I’m NOT saying that media editors should boycott ALL THINGS Trump….

That isn’t right….

But I AM pointing out that IF the media collectively began to give EQUAL time to OTHER things that are going on around the country?

Trump would be replaced by issues and stories about what people worry about, and want addressed in their everyday lives….

 

Democratic lawmakers are under pressure from media stories about starting impeachment hearings…

Talking media heads bring it up every hour….

But the ones who actually speak to Democratic leaders know there will be no such thing….

The Republican’s in the US Senate who would be the jury will NOT go on record a year and half out from Election Day voting to convict their party leader of crimes and bad judgement that Robert Mueller laid out for them to consider….

The Congress, which was created to be a check on a King or runaway President , simply has no ‘balls’ to flex…(Trump now says he will ignore their efforts to hold him to task for possible legality )

This isn’t just for Trump….

Modern day lawmakers have chosen to NOT challenge President’s for decades….

President’s have learned that they can go to the media to get around the legislative body…

Trump appears to be no different….

Of course he is embolden and protected by something the guys who put the American Government system would have NEVER considered…

An immunity for a chief executive from being charged for a crime , something they made sure wouldn’t happen by having a legislative body and courts to balance things out…

There was no Fourth estate of the media then…

 

Democrats are labouring under a heavy load going into 2020’s elections…

They did fine in last years House elections because under the radar, across the country in local and US House races (Not US Senate races) they walked past the media headlines to reach out to voters and talk not just ab out Donald Trump….But about things that voters wanted…They put aside the left leaning stuff that the media has put upfront as Democratic tags and spoke about practical things for voters….

This WILL be the ONLY way the party can get AROUND the media editors that will ONLY feature the daily Trump story, no matter how meaningless it might be…

This will be the only way Democrats and even Republicans will be able to use their common sense and political power to counter a man who NEVER should have been elected….

We have seen in the Mueller report how even his own staff dragged their feet and put their boss off in order to maintain a sane admin for a man who some doubt the man’s sanity….

Those reports in the media have only served to make the guy even more driven to ‘do what he want’s’ which often illegal, impractical and plain wrong….

Those people need cover from media stories that would have Trump seek to only hire idiots that WOULD follow his crazed instructions….

 

The media mantra is to report the news….

This dog, who is a part of social media, would like the big people in the business to try remember that Donald Trump is but ONE PERSON….

And that their is whole America out there that deserves and needs MORE attention than Trump…

And THAT would be for the betterment of us ALL….
