Are they saying that pilots driving Boeing 7373Max’s do NOT have to experience the same problems that Brough down two aircraft?
They just have to follow the checklist and rely on ANOTHER software program?
REALLY?
People need to NOT elect to fly in the damn plane….
No for ANY airline that doesn’t REQUIRE their pilots to fly thru MANY simulations to be able to get qualified to fly people in the back ANYWHERE….
An FAAupdate of minimum training required for pilots to fly the Boeing 737 MAX will cover the aircraft’s maneuvering characteristics augmentation system (MCAS), but simulator sessions will not be needed, a draft of a new report reveals.
The updated Flight Standardization Board (FSB) report for the 737 family, posted for public comment Apr. 16, add MCAS as a “special emphasis area” for pilot training. It also adds the 737 MAX 7 and Boeing Business Jet version of the MAX to the 737 FSB.
The FSB revisions are based on reviews and flight tests of the new MCAS system completed in March. The board looked only at training aspects and compared the proposed instruction to how the 737 MAX performed compared to a 737 Next Generation aircraft. The board determined that the original conclusions that the two aircraft handled similarly enough to negate the need for simulator sessions as part of differences training were valid.
“The FSB found Level B training”—which includes computer-based training but does not require a simulator—”to be sufficient for initial, transition, and upgrade training between the B-737-NG and B-737-MAX series aircraft,” the FSB’s original report concluded…..
