Donald Trump IS in trouble folks….
I mean REALLY in trouble….
He’s been playing to the rightwingnut conservative media hosts on the Government shutdown/I want my Wall thing for 21 days now…
Today more than a 100,000 federal employee’s won’t get paid…..
The media is reporting that any minute now Donald Trump COULD declare a national emergency and raid the funds for natural disasters and the military…..
He can do this off the bat because he’s the President and his declaration would allow him to go around Congress….
Of course , his order would end up in court…
But for starters ?
Donald Trump gets to strut and say he’s the King…..Not Congress….
THAT is what has his parties hard right lawmakers worried….
A few months ago the American voters , fed up with a aimless and seemingly lying lawless Donald Trump voted to take away the Republican majority in the US House….
That move has put us were we are today….
Having the Democrats, led by House Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer dug in on NO WALL money for Trump…
He’s stuck…
His fellow US Senator’s won’t do anything to help him or cross him knowing full well that they cannot TRUST their own party leader who was given several deals to get some wall money, but turned them ALL down…..
The rightwingnut lawmakers are afraid that is Trump goes ahead and declares a national emergency for a wall that they know will NEVER be built?
They will get two problems….
Congressional lawmakers, of BOTH parties, will be pissed that Trump went around them….
But more scary for some?
If?
Donald Trump ends up being a a one term and the Democrats win in 2020?
What would stop them from doing the same thing as Trump to usher in their agenda with no regard for compromise the basic of the American political system that Donald Trump does NOT believe in?
All off this IS playing to the Democrats , who the Republicans shut out of governing for the last two years…..
In doing so?
The Republicans in Congress unwittingly have strengthen the Democrats to stand up to Trump and MAKE him come to the political table, something he is afraid to do because he is actually NOT representing the majority of Americans by paying to only the 40% that approve of his term in office so far…..
Speaking from the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday, Trump signaled that he is leaning toward the step, which advisers say would enable the president to tap funds elsewhere in the budget, such as the Pentagon or Army Corps of Engineers, without congressional approval.
“If we don’t make a deal with Congress, most likely I will do that,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday. “We’re going to see what happens over the next few days.”
Freedom Caucus member Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) urged Trump to make the emergency declaration in an op-ed in the Daily Caller, while Rep. Mark Green, a freshman and newly-minted Freedom Caucus member, is also girding for action on securing the border.
“I support whatever means it takes to get it done,” the Tennessee Republican told Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs. “We have a crisis at the southern border. It’s time to act.”
Other conservatives, however, are adamant that Trump’s strategy should be a last resort. Some are worried that it would be seen as backing down in the shutdown fight with Democrats, given the dubious fate of the border wall funds in the courts. Many GOP lawmakers are also anxious about setting a precedent for handing over too much power to the executive branch.
“To call it an outright emergency, I told them, I don’t agree with that, but it’s a crisis that needs to be dealt with. That was my opinion,” said Florida Republican Ted Yoho, who also pushed back against the proposal during the Freedom Caucus meeting this week. “Once you do that, it’s all or nothing.”
Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.), another caucus member, said he does believe the president has the legal authority to declare an emergency for humanitarian reasons and the flow of deadly fentanyl over the border. But he warned against the approach.
“I believe the president does have the legal authority — if you read the statute — I also think it would be a poor use of that authority,” Schweikert said.
House Democratic leaders, just one week into the majority, are likely to respond quickly with legal action of their own if Trump goes ahead with his unilateral plan. That could tie up Trump’s wall funding maneuver for months or longer….
Note….
On top of ALL of this is Robert Mueller , The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, New York State’s Attorney General and a TON of other things…..
