And Donald Trump…Of Course!
National:
Avenatti 2020: ITS HAPPENING! Normally this would be the point where intelligent poll-watchers mention that he has no clear lane, little support, and a terrible reputation with the Progressive base even outside of probably sinking their efforts to stop the Kavanaugh confirmation, but dammit I want to see Kamala Harris have to debate him next year. We can laugh and cry together, and it will be glorious.
Clinton 2020: Following up on recent comments by Hillary that she’d really like another shot at the presidency please, many of her close advisors have come out to say that no, she will not be running again. I expect this to last until next month, when Clinton will float another trial balloon to be #46, to another chorus of cheers from the GOP and annoyed and angry looks from the Democrats.
Sanders 2020: Just in case anyone forgot about the Progressive’s favorite protest candidate, Sanders has refused to rule out another Presidential run, saying that he will not pledge to serve a full term if re-elected next week. Sanders will face stiff competition for the left flank of the Democrats if he does run again, as he still has a host of progressive heresies in his political career that people like Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris will be able to slam back in his face, but no one has ever accused Bernie Sanders of being a coward.
Trump: Trump has already reverted back to his usual talking points about how the media is out to get him, and therefore by extension his supporters and America. While this has generally served him well in the past and has been shown to be probably the best method of approaching an overtly hostile media force, it does raise a few eyebrows coming so soon after one of his super-fans sent mail bombs/fake mail bombs to everyone on his list of enemies. At least it’s better than him going off script again I guess?…
