President:
2020: He’s running! Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown (D) says in an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer, “he is not the kind of guy who looks in the mirror every morning and sees a future president.” Brown also said, “you have to really want the job. I don’t really want the job.” Being a politician, he then qualified his remarks by stating he would not say he would never run for president in the future. Although it would be interesting to see what the market for an alleged wife beater would be in a Democratic presidential primary.
2020: Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) is not ruling out a presidential run as he is visiting Iowa for the second time this year. Inslee, who is currently chairing the Dem Governor’s Association said climate change was his #1 issue.
NAFTA/USMCA: His Orangeness has made America great again with a slightly tweaked free trade agreement with neighbors Canada & Mexico. It is not clear whether any benefits from this deal will come quick enough to counteract possible Congressional losses due to the ongoing trade war with China.
Bloomberg: Billionaire former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (D, R, I, D) is giving Senate Democrats a $20 million gift. No strings attached, but think of him in 2020, won’t ya?
