I have always thought that the choice of James Mattis to run the Pentagon was a good check against a possible runaway ego Donald Trump….

The only person to vote against his confirmation was NY Sen. Gillibrand….
One hopes that even with Trump aware that Mattis doesn’t think his boss is wrapped to tight?
He’ll keep Mattis anyways….

Defense Secretary James Mattis on Tuesday said that President Trump expressed support for him after raising questions about Mattis’s future in a weekend interview with “60 Minutes.”
Reuters reported that Mattis said Trump phoned him while the secretary was in flight from Washington to Vietnam.
“(Trump) said, ‘I’m 100 percent with you,'” Mattis told reporters….
