The Swift change in Tennessee seems to be a sign that a certain pop star who offered an endorsement might be “TOXIC.”
jamesb says
The Senate WAS a long shot…..
Stuart Rothenberg: “The Democrats’ chances of netting at least two Senate seats always seemed like a long shot. But a month ago, the stars looked to be aligning for Democrats. Today, those stars tell a different story.”
“With Republican challenger Kevin Cramer opening up a clear margin over incumbent Heidi Heitkamp, the North Dakota Senate race looks all but over now, according to multiple insiders. That means Democrats will need to swipe at least three GOP seats to take back the Senate — an outcome that currently appears somewhere between unlikely and impossible.”
FiveThirtyEight gives Democrats a 19% chance to take control of the Senate….

Republicans prefer Kanye West.
CG says
I posted this to Trump supporters elsewhere:
The national media tended not to mention that the main crux of Kanye’s Oval Office rant was to get Trump to release a notorious Chicago gang leader, who is serving a life term, from prison. Kanye also told Chicago reporters he was able to get Trump to change his mind on “stop and frisk” and educated him that the crime problem in the city is not as bad as he claims.
But people mostly just noticed the hug, I’m sure.
jamesb says
CG?
It remains to be seen IF Kanye West will get anything out of his Trump kiss-up besides some FaceTime and a LOT of scratched heads?
A LOT of people look at this as West just being a ‘court jester’….
jamesb says
Also
You DO have a great memory
But constantly bringing up stuff from back in the day does NOT change things today
CG says
So, is that a lesson learned by the left after embarking on a strategy to lie about Brett Kavanaugh’s long ago past?
jamesb says
The strategy was to bring to the forefront things in Brett’s past that DID raise questions about his suitability to serve on the court….
Those questions WERE addressed in public to a degree….
And in relation to untruths?
Kavanaugh DID serve some up HIMSELF concerning drinking, a few other things….
Last weeks spectacle WAS political…
From BOTH sides…
As it HAS been in the past…
MY feeling is that Republicans have made a basic mistake in this win…
They have dismissed the concerns of thousands of woman and men who are concerned about sexual misconduct actions…
These people aren’t going forget this…
It IS gonna cost them….
And talking about lies?
One Donald Trump has caught in NUMEROUS lies that he has tried to pay people to forget or keep quiet about….
jamesb says
Lesson CG?
The lesson is if ya got money?
You can lie your ass off and get over even if you have spend money to keep it that way….
Some lesson, eh?
CG says
No, everything Kavanuagh testified to was accurate and consistent with his numerous past FBI background interviews and checks.
You have stated that you did not care if he was falsely accused of rape or not. That it was “political” and important to stop him from getting on the Court.
As it relates to Kristen Sinema in Arizona, clearly she had a (political) past she did not want to get out there. People were waiting to release this information and now it’s likely to cost her, just like it would for any other candidate with the exception of Donald Trump and possibly Barack Obama.
jamesb says
We pointed out here before that Kavanaugh said he NEVER drank in college …
He DID…
He siad he NEVER drank to the level that would ‘black out’….
Several witnesses have verified that he DID…
There is even evidence from his written things that he was know to be a excessive drinker….
Now maybe this LINK could refresh YOU superb memory ….
jamesb says
And?
Once again?
The ‘officer why did your stop me..everyone was speeding’ defense DOES NOT APPLY to stuff Trump or even Kavanugh have done….Nor does it apply to your constant bring in up stuff from back in the day
CG says
“We pointed out here before that Kavanaugh said he NEVER drank in college …”
This is a complete and total fabrication.
CG says
If you can find and link to one instance of Kavanuagh saying he never drank in college, I will give you $200 for your site.
jamesb says
THAT should be drank enough to pass out….
And SEVERAL people have disputed THAT….
jamesb says
….as for the drinking till passed out?
…But during a line of questioning — by Republicans, no less — in which he denied ever drinking to the point of blacking out, he admitted instead to “falling asleep” after imbibing too many beers…..
CG says
No one ever claimed they personally witnessed him black out. It was all conjecture. Those who would have been mostly likely to witness say they never did. (none of this is relevant to bogus charges of sexual assault anyway.)
Your claim though that Kavanaugh had at any point said he never drank at all is completely ludicrous. I trust you will fix the record on that, as you often do for your numerous sloppy errors. Otherwise, prove me wrong and I will pay up.
CG says
Willie Nelson seems to have hurt his guy as well.

Slow day here I see ,the major issues? How many votes some singers “cost” two candidates in two of the biggest Republican states in the country and mindless reports on the hourly doings of the stock market.
Time to watch some Three Stooges reruns.
CG says
Politics doesn’t have enough Stooges for you?
scott says
Like I said yesterday–conservative Republicans are now cool with a rapper saying “motherfucker” in the Oval Office with the tacit support of the conservative Republican President.
Family Values indeed!
CG says
I’m not cool with it, (at least not with cameras rolling, I am sure all sorts of people have said that in the Oval Office before though) so what does that make me?
Bill Clinton did worse in there however.
The American people, far beyond conservatives, have already decided that the Kardashian/Jenners/Wests are American Royalty. Why else are they so admired?
scott says
Since you immediately jumped to Clinton “whataboutism” that makes you a typical Republican.
Keith2018 says
Interesting to find out that Kanye West is American royalty, and that it’s no big deal that Kanye said “motherfucker” in the Oval Office because, wait for it, wait for it, “Bill Clinton!” The old Clinton Card.
Yep, any Republican faux pas can be excused with what Bill Clinton did with his Johnson.
Now Kyrsten Sinema’s record as an anti-war activist is being questioned, as it should be since she was right about the wars but silly in her choice of rhetoric. Especially since she has moved to the right over her years in Congress. But, she correctly opposed two useless and tragic wars for all the right reasons. So, the Fox News hype notwithstanding, she remains right on the issue. They have been running the pink tutu ad for weeks. Let’s see if the voters care.
After all, the Republican Gubernatorial candidate in Pennsylvania said today he wanted to dance on Governor Wolf’s face with his golf spikes. Isn’t that a public threat? Have the Republicans denounced this yet?
Jack is right. Slow day. You need more posters James.
Or, how about the fact that the Republican Secretary of State in Georgia, also the Republican Gubernatorial Candidate is trying to disenfranchise thousands of black voters in his State? He needs to resign, but, of course he won’t.
jamesb says
I agree Keith….
I would gladly WELCOME more….
The front page of this place asks for more….
The one’s that HAVE dropped in from time to time seem to be chased away for reason or another….
CG says
So, you have been shown once again james to be a liar. It would be easier for you to just admit you were wrong.
Goodluck
jamesb says
Liar?
He, he, he….
No…
If I get something wrong I correct it….
Others do NOT…..
jamesb says
And you have NO comment on the other things you where incorrect on?
CG says
Everything I have said is correct.
Do you admit you got something major wrong? If so, please state as such.
Nobody has ever claimed they witnessed Kavanaugh “black out.” It’s that simple. It’s also completely irrelevant to whether or not he should have been confirmed to the Court or not. People have said, decades later, they think he might have, but that’s no different than the conjecture I have about you on various matters.
jamesb says
In fact YOU did NOT get EVERYTHING correct….
The ‘Black OUT Line’ you said is INCORRECT….
I can live with you not getting it right….
It’s just something that is past us now….
It has NOT stopped the guy from getting the job…
The women involved will go on living their lives….
And his past will be included in his background report file…
I point out that you DO revert back to people’s past actions as a ‘gotcha’ here often…
CG says
It makes me honest and capable of perspective.
In the grand scheme of things, that particular word by Kanye is no big deal. The fact that he was even there to begin with in such a manner, when he may be legitimately mentally ill, is a bigger deal.
But if a rapper had said it in the Oval Office with Obama, you wouldn’t have batted an eye. Did you care when the black comedian called Obama the N word at the White House Correspondents Dinner? While Obama laughed, I thought the moment was horrific.
Other Presidents, and their guests, have voluntarily said and done worse in the Oval Office. Trump having the Russians in the Oval Office to brag about firing Comey (and then revealing Israeli intelligence) was a lot worse than Kanye’s rants.
scott says
You’re right. In the scheme of things no big deal.
It’s just one more instance of the so called values voters being hypocritical as all get out.
CG says
Out in Arizona, there seem to be October surprises galore involving the things that Democrat nominee Kristen Sinema was saying after 9/11. She is on video and audio saying things such as 9/11 was done by the U.S. government and that she supported the right of Americans to go fight on behalf of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
These things will likely cost Sinema what was thought to be a winnable race. Those on the right though who will rightly be outraged by her behavior and rhetoric then, should try to reconcile any support they gave politically to Donald Trump who has also expressed conspiracy theories about 9/11 and the U.S. government.
CG says
There’s also more recent video of her calling Arizonians crazy and a bunch of meth-heads, etc.
If the deadline wasn’t passed, the party would be trying to swap her out of this race.
