It appears that Flake votes to move ahead in the committee with the REQUEST for a reopening of the FBI investigation of kavanaugh from Schumer and McConnell….?
He is asking for an additional look at Kavanaugh with a pause….
He will join others with a request to the White House….

The question, tweeted on Friday by Democratic political aide Emmy Bengtson, was a reference to a survivor of sexual assault who confronted Republican Senator Jeff Flake in a lift and spoke her truth. It might just possibly have been a turning point on another day of drama and chaos on Capitol Hill.

Maria Gallagher, 23, tearfully challenged the Arizona senator: “I was sexually assaulted and nobody believed me. I didn’t tell anyone, and you’re telling all women that they don’t matter, that they should just stay quiet because if they tell you what happened to them you are going to ignore them.”
Trapped in the lift, Flake switched between looking at the women and looking at the floor for nearly two minutes. Gallagher pleaded with him to look her in the eye. “Don’t look away from me,” she said. This visceral moment, captured by TV cameras, appears to have gone some way to pricking Flake’s conscience….

I doubt “the elevator” had anything to do with it. Flake probably had this planned all along. He has his own agenda, as a politician. He will vote to confirm. If nobody else primaries Trump, I hope he does. I would support him all the way.
but the general concept of physically threatening elected officials, if that is what you are endorsing is a bad one. We already saw what someone was capable of over a year ago.
The FBI will wind up coming back saying there is no basis to the allegations against Kavanaugh and that will be part of the narrative… thanks to Sen. Flake.

God only knows what goes on in those buildings these “ people of faith” attend on Sunday mornings.

It’s clear Kavanaugh lied during his testimony, but Jack’s right, the right wing doesn’t care, and at least 48 Republican Senators don’t care. But, after last week, the vast majority of American women care.
