As Senate Republicans press for a swift vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Senate Democrats are investigating a new allegation of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. The claim dates to the 1983-84 academic school year, when Kavanaugh was a freshman at Yale University. The offices of at least four Democratic senators have received information about the allegation, and at least two have begun investigating it. Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week and, in conversations with The New Yorker, expressed concern about its potential impact on Kavanaugh’s nomination. Soon after, Senate Republicans issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote. The Democratic Senate offices reviewing the allegations believe that they merit further investigation. “This is another serious, credible, and disturbing allegation against Brett Kavanaugh. It should be fully investigated,” Senator Mazie Hirono, of Hawaii, said. An aide in one of the other Senate offices added, “These allegations seem credible, and we’re taking them very seriously. If established, they’re clearly disqualifying.”…

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is denying a second allegation of sexual misconduct.
The White House released a statement from the nominee Sunday after the allegations in a New Yorker article in which a woman, Deborah Rodriguez, a former Yale classmate, alleged he exposed himself and thrust his penis in her face during a drunken dormitory party.
Kavanaugh says the event “did not happen” and that the allegation is “a smear, plain and simple.”
A White House spokeswoman adds in a second statement that the allegation is “designed to tear down a good man.”

Montgomery County investigators confirmed they’re aware of another sexual assault complaint against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the Montgomery County Sentinel reports.
“While investigators weren’t specific and spoke on background, they said they are looking at allegations against Kavanaugh during his senior year in high school after an anonymous witness came forward this weekend.”
“This would potentially bring the number to four women accusing Kavanaugh of wrongdoing.”

There is still no reason to “assume”that Kavanaugh won’t be confirmed.
I agree that the situation is fluid.It appears to me that McConnell is intent on forcing Republicans to vote on the nomination.Remember,according to political scuttlebutt McConnell was not that keen on Kavanaugh nomination to begin with.
Accordingly, a vote on the nomination would offer him the opportunity to appear the good party soldier even if Kavanaugh isn’t confirmed .Then ,Trump might be more inclined to listen to McConnells recommendations on the next nominee.
Rest assured that Kavanaughs replacement ,if that happens, will be as if not more so ,conservative than he is.
Then again you’re always babbling on about Trumps uh “Democratic tendencies.” Perhaps he will choose aDemocrat!😂😂😂

Attorney Michael Avenatti has issued a stark warning to those attempting to discredit a new accuser of Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
On Monday night, Stormy Daniels’ lawyer told CNN’s Chris Cuomo that the woman was “both” a witness and a victim of Kavanaugh’s who “had a number of security clearances issued by the federal government over a number of years.” He also claims she will publicly come forward within 48 hours.
“So let this be a warning to Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh and other surrogates on the Senate Judiciary Committee,” Avenatti said. “Be very, very careful if you launch some smear campaign against my client because you will ultimately be shown to be a fraud.”….

We had our impromptu fundraiser for Betty Sutton last night as the latest poll from Ohio showed the Democratic ticket coming from behind to tie the Republicans. My husband took out his checkbook and upped his contribution on the spot. We raised a modest 30K and it was great to see old friends from the Hill.
Senator Brown’s Chief of Staff was very optimistic about his boss’s chances and the hope that he’ll carry the other statewide candidates to victory.
The conversation turned to Kavanaugh and the hypocrisy of the Republican Majority. First Roy Moore and now this, they might as well require all young women to wear targets on their backs.
I really don’t know even one educated woman who will vote Republican this November, not one.
We can thank the “Pussygrabber-in-Chief” and Brett for that! And, what was up with him not letting his wife answer any questions during their interview?? Ah, Preppy Republicans, I would bet real money he has a woman on the side.
