Republican Senator’s Grassley and McConnell had s tried to keep the Judiciary Committee voted out of the Kavanaugh confirmation for this Thursday….
One doubted that their plan would hold….
It didn’t….
The vote WILL be delayed….
Even Donald Trump (Who has his own woman issues) has backed away from NOT giving air to Ford’s grievance ….
Several of the Republicans in the committee advised that their votes would be jeopardy if there was no public hearing and THAT sealed it….
The Senate Judiciary Committee will have a public hearing Monday, Sept. 24, on the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, R-Utah, a former Judiciary Committee chairman, confirmed the scheduling update to reporters on Monday evening. The news broke after senators had arrived back at the Capitol Monday afternoon and after a meeting of Judiciary Committee Republicans in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office about how to proceed in light of allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford.
“Anyone who comes forward as Dr. Ford has done deserves to be heard. My staff has reached out to Dr. Ford to hear her account, and they held a follow-up call with Judge Kavanaugh this afternoon,” Judiciary Chairman Charles E. Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a statement announcing the hearing.
As Senate Judiciary Republicans emerged from their closed-door meeting, the White House said the nominee welcomes a public hearing.
“Judge Kavanaugh looks forward to a hearing where he can clear his name of this false allegation. He stands ready to testify tomorrow if the Senate is ready to hear him,” White House Principal Deputy press Secretary Raj Shah said in a statement.
Earlier Monday, President Donald Trump said he would be fine with a delay to let Kavanaugh and his accuser talk to senators about an alleged incident in the early 1980s while both were high school students….

This thing stinks to high heaven and I am certain that even most Democrats know what this is really about, whether they will ever admit it publicly or not.

Stopping a Supreme Court Justice, without any regard to if the allegation is true or not. It all can be rationalized for a “more important purpose.” If a person and their family get destroyed, so be it.
Truth is secondary, just like it was and often is to the people who rationalize every action and utterance of Donald Trump.

Not sure why she would lie about this 5 yrs ago on The off chance he would be nominated to the Supreme Court in 2018.

Kavanaugh was not named five years ago to the therapist. It could be that something happened to her and someone else was involved. Maybe she actually believes it was him. There are a ton of questions that would not to be asked and should be asked, if she wants people to believe Kavanagh did this to her when he was 17.
Or she could be lying, especially *if* it is true that she also sent a letter accusing Neil Gorsuch of something similar when he was up for confirmation. The Kavanaugh charge is seriously lacking in credibility without any corroborating witnesses or evidence of any sport, against a person who has never been accused of anything improper. Feinstein did not sit on this for months by accident. They did not consider this credible and now feel like they have to throw up a political Hail Mary.
With Al Franken, there was a photograph and a non-denial. Big differences. There were multiple other women (Democrats) who came forward and said he was improper with them. There was also the fact that Franken once joked in an article that he wanted to drug Leslie Stahl and then rape her unconscious body and take photographs of it.
If she says this really happened, it should be said under oath, whether in front of cameras or not , her choice (for the sake of the country I think it should be a private hearing)
Is she suddenly going to remember something else if this is “delayed?”

Reports are that Ford is echoing the Democratic request that the FBI should do a investigation of her complaint BEFORE she comes in to testify before Congress….
Republicans seem to in such a hurry afraid of the midterm election results that they may try hold a vote anyways

Brett Kavanaugh is simply a political hack, a man who has been doing political dirty work for his Party for years. I loved the questions he wrote for Bill Clinton and his blow jobs.
The charges against Kavanaugh are credible and they should be investigated.
People who join the public arena are subjected to public scrutiny and should expect small minded and petty people to investigate their every public action. That goes with the territory.
But, to now cry crocodile tears over the perceived stress on Kavanaugh’s family when he used them as props in his confirmation hearing is so typical.
Brett Kavanaugh, like his sponsor George Bush, is a drunk. He should not have a lifetime appointment to the Court. Especially if the FBI hasn’t done due deligence.
Once again, the Republican Party is insulting women.
