Pres-2020/NY-Gov: Andrew Cuomo made an interesting statement yesterday, saying that America was never great (amid a generic statement about women’s rights). Variations on that statement have become something of a rallying cry for the far-left since Trump coined “Make America Great Again”, and it is possible that Cuomo is trying to veer leftward to secure his left flank against Cynthia Nixon’s primary challenge. The other possibility is that Cuomo, who’s Democrat-but-not-crazy profile has made him all but bulletproof in New York, has his eyes on a Presidential run, and is looking to kiss and make up with a Progressive base that has watched him kill or water down a lot of their priorities as Governor.
Voting Age: Grace Meng has introduced an amendment that would lower the voting age from 18 to 16, basically because she thinks it would benefit the Democrats “Youth at that age are responsible enough to cast a ballot”. There is basically no chance of this actually going anywhere, but expect to hear stories in the future about how Nazi Republican Vote Suppression is denying 16-year-olds their constitutional right to vote….
