As we wait to see if a character on President Donald Trump’s former reality show brings down his presidency with an audio recording of him using a racial slur after him bragging about sexual assault did not, it is time for today’s roundup:
President/National
Trump-Racist: White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders refused to rule out the chance that the American people might hear President Trump say a racial slur. I have to give Sanders credit here for acknowledging her boss has one of the worst cases of verbal diarrhea identified.
More Trump: Politico reports that White House staffers are living in fear of what the next set of recordings by former Apprentice winner and Trump staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman reveals. Staffers are worried that her campaign against Trump does not care if it destroys others along the way. Frankly I am kind of perplexed why Trump ran a character like Omarosa out of the White House when does very Trumpy things.
NDAs: Omarosa is now subject to an arbitration proceeding in New York brought on behalf of the Trump campaign. Omarosa is claiming her conduct is not covered by the NDA. I tend to think she is in the right if her commentary is limited to her time as a White House staffer. In response to the NDA questions, Sanders would not answer if she signed a NDA.
DNC-Super Delegates: Speaking of racial prejudice, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Cedric Richmond (D) has voiced his opposition to a plan to strip DNC superdelegates of power during the first ballot of a contested convention. Richmond’s attack is just one of a growing number of efforts to save the superdelegates from the largely white Bold Progressive activist horde designed to ensure their perpetual domination of the party.
Manafort: Campaign manager to shady political figures Paul Manafort’s defense counsel rested without calling a witness in his corruption trial. Closing arguments are scheduled. It remains unclear if the GRU and FSB are plotting to extract him still…..
