Despite all the impeachment talk going on in the media?
Democratic House leader Pelosi is NOT in a hurry to bring impeachment charges against Trump in the House…
And she hasn’t been for a while…
She wants Mueller to do more before any effort to remove Trump from office…
She WILL be under HUGE pressure from Democratic party supporters to start impeachment hearings if the Democrats get a majority in the House come next year…
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi says impeaching President Donald Trump is “not a priority” for Democrats despite the conviction of Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and the guilty plea of his former lawyer, Michael Cohen.
Pelosi tells The Associated Press that “impeachment has to spring from something else.”
Pelosi says she prefers for Democrats, if they win the House in November, to conduct oversight and ensure Special Counsel Robert Mueller can finish his work.
She says: “If and when the information emerges about that, we’ll see. It’s not a priority on the agenda going forward unless something else comes forward.”

I agree.
Republican campaigners trying to rouse their base and many on the left of the Resistance assert that a Democratic majority in the House should mean immediate impeachment proceedings, but (apart from the fact that incomplete charges even if voted by the House would have no prayer for a two-thirds Senate conviction) something more substantial is needed. If only to let the uncommitted electorate know that this is not some kind of witch hunt.

Pelosi has to remember the lesson of Bill Clinton’s ‘impeachment’
She is gonna be under YUGE pressure to start hearings..
She knows better….

This issue IS gonna be a problem for Democrats….
They ARE afraid of helping GOPer’s by doing what some Democrats want, which could very well strengthen the GOP base…..

Martin London, a lawyer who represented former Vice President Spiro Agnew, said that President Trump should resign from office to keep federal prosecutors from prosecuting his family.
“It’s only going to get worse,” London said Friday during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”…..

Corrupt Republican Gov. Ed DiPrete of Rhode Island made such a deal to protect his son from jail *, but I very much doubt that (given how he treats loyalty as a strictly one-way street), the President will do the same.
* The prosecution and RI State Police had been woefully and shamefully deficient in providing DiPrete’s defense counsel with exculpatory evidence (discovery) in their first case against him, leading the court to throw out all charges in 1997. Bringing a revived but much smaller case, with a greatly-diminished body of admissible evidence (and thus a decreased likelihood of conviction at trial or on appeal), the prosecutors were ready to accept a one-year state prison term plus probation in exchange for not sending Ed DiPrete, Jr, to jail.
Had the Stare of Rhode Island & Providence Plantations been able to present a full case, the likely convictions would have sent him to prison for a far, far longer term. The Providence Journal (which at that time had a much larger staff) had prepared a huge 20-part chronicle that was even bigger than the 9-part series they published about Providence Mayor Vincent A. “Buddy” Cianci, Jr (R > Ind.).
