Democrats candidates are being told to run on issue dear to their constituents …
Democrats are making a bet that with the help of a wave of TV and digital ads they can finally make the upcoming election about health care and taxes.
They just need to hope voters will tune out Donald Trump long enough to listen.

Sure ,any candidate should be prepared to articulate their stands on issues.Duh?
And,of course.the party in control of the White House usually suffers losses in the midterms ,particularly in the House.In a sense though the midterms are sort of a mini referendum on whomever is occupying the Presidency.
In the case of Trump.probably the most divisive and controversial President in modern history?Yes, to a very large extent this election will be about him.Everybody knows that.
So sure print the boilerplate stuff.
We all know the reality though.

Democrats HAVE been running on issues and winning in special elections….
To a large extent?
Candidates will be careful to either run on Trump….or…More likely to do what the linked pice says and find the sweet spot on ISSUES for the people voting in their races…
As I and the piece point out (and you Jack)….
A lot of the Trump legal trouble has become background noise…
But voters should be reminded of the actions he and GOPer’s have taken…
No smart candidate would run JUST on Trump….
