Joe Biden is the current frontrunner among Democratic voters for President in 2020, he actually has been for a while…..
President Donald Trump “dreams” about running against former Vice President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, he said in a “CBS Evening News” interview Wednesday.
“Well, I dream, I dream about Biden. That’s a dream,” Trump told anchor Jeff Glor when asked who he thought would be his Democratic opponent. “I’d love to have it be Biden.”
Biden “by himself could never do anything,” Trump said, pointing out that the former senator ran for president twice unsuccessfully. “President Obama took him out of the garbage heap … made him vice president, and he was fine.”…..

Hillary Clinton Update
I was waiting for this…..
The above piece has the first poll I believe that includes Hillary Clinton in the Democrats 2020 Presidential nomination possibles….
And as I thought….
Clinton comes in second behind Biden, pushing Bernie Sanders into third place….
For those who think a Hillary Clinton run in 2020 is out of the picture?
You might want to think again…..

Yes ,the poll is 3 weeks old….
She still IS in second place…..

Ok,I’ve thought again…
I still don’t think she will run.
Keith2018 says
Me either.
jamesb says
The odds are STRONGLY against a last Clinton
Run
But you CAN see where there could be an opening
My Name Is Jack says
No I don’t see an opening at all.
As everyone knows these type polls over two years out ,are more indicative of name recognition than anything else.Note the three top candidates are the former VP and the top two candidates from last time.
Other prospective languish in single digits .The reason is that they are not as well known as people who have spent years in the public spotlight(Biden and Clinton) or ran a strong national race two years ago(Sanders).
You ran a story on a poll a few days ago that showed over 60% didn’t want Clinton to run again.
I suggest that is much more indicative of the problems she would face in another run than polling less than 20% in what was basically a name recognition poll.
Finally if Hillary started making concrete moves toward an actual run it would be met by strong negativity in most Democratic circles in my view.
jamesb says
Ok
YOU don’t see an opening of ANY sort?….
jamesb says
I DO say SMALL opening Jack
My choice right now remains Joe Biden
CG says
If Hillary seriously thinks about running again, someone ought to stage an intervention.
As for Biden, putting aside all his other weaknesses, do the Democrats really want to nominate someone who is on video from 2012 laughing and chortling and completely dismissing the idea that the Russians might mean us harm?
jamesb says
Those name recognition votes count also…..
My Name Is Jack says
Not really ,for the reasons I mentioned.
Hillary Clinton will always be known as the candidate who lost to Donald Trump. We can endlessly debate the reasons for her defeat. It happened.
As was recalled awhile back, the last time an unsuccessful nominee was renominated four years later was Adlai Stevenson and that was over 60years ago.(he lost in a landslide).
One could have made a better argument for Al Gore running again in 2004.He didn’t.I suspect because he knew that his time had passed.
Hillary’s has too.
