They have company here in America,,,,,
A LOT of us wonder WTF the Republicans don’t grow some BALLS and throw Trump out….
EARTH—Assuming the controversial president of the United States must be in possession of potentially damning information concerning his home country in order to keep them so completely under his control, the rest of the world wondered aloud Tuesday about exactly what Trump has on America that compels the nation to keep him in power. “Whoa, he must have some real bad dirt on the U.S. populace for them to just let him get away with so much unconscionable bullshit. You have to wonder what he knows,” said billions of world inhabitants outside of President Trump’s jurisdiction, further speculating that the only possible explanation for the continued deference of American elected officials, American media, and American citizens to an obviously corrupt and incompetent leader would be Trump’s possession of damaging information that could take down the entire country. “There’s no way a truly proud and free nation would put up with this if Trump weren’t blackmailing them with something really, really bad….

Yes,in that poll,71% of Republicans approve of Trumps Russian policy.
Apparently these Republican Congresspeople who criticized Trump are woefully out of step with their fellow party members.

Careful Jack, you don’t want to trigger another surreal conversation where folks turn themselves into knots trying to make us all believe that our Republican Congress has the Nation’s welfare at heart and actually all oppose Trump.
Still waiting to see that list of all those Members of Congress who took strong exception to the Dear Leader’s verbal blow job of Putin.

New Axios poll shows overwhelming support among Republicans for Donald Trumps performance in Helsinki.
79% of Republicans approve of his performance.
Not surprising to me and the others here who immediately grasped that Republicans will support Anything Trump does, even giving up their former “hardline” policy views toward Russia.
Further evidence that there remains a yawning gap between the Republican officeholders historical Republican views toward Russia and the new Trump Republican cultish view that whatever the Leader says becomes the view of the masses of grassroots Republicans.

The CBS poll is more reliable than the Survey Monkey/Axios poll – and it shows that less than 70% of Republicans support Trump’s Helsinki performance. Those are not strong numbers. Off hand, I can’t recall when less than 70% of Democrats didn’t support Obama on something. It might have happened, but not often.

This might be the moment that his support collapses under the weight of his Republican bullshit. But I’m not placing bets.
Last night the Helsinki Republicans in the House striped funding for ballot security from the budget.
Wonder why?

They are following the instructions given to Trump from Putin?

I’m sure that the FSB, the KGB, the GRU and the Internet Research Agency would be more than glad to provide technical assistance on ballot security to any officials who might feel the need….
From a March 2018 joint statement by state election and federal election-security officials:
“…Notably, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has said repeatedly that the types of systems Russian actors targeted were NOT involved in vote tallying. Vote tallying systems have a lower cyber-risk profile than the other connected systems we rely upon to bring voters information and services.
“Intelligence agencies agree these activities will intensify in scope and sophistication and could involve different actors and tactics. Election officials are acutely aware that the systems we manage are targets for bad actors, foreign and domestic, just like many high-profile companies and other government agencies. A strong defense requires a coordinated response from all levels of government, the private sector, and you, the voters. Any attempt to disrupt and delegitimize elections is an affront to democracy and is not acceptable to anyone in the elections community.
“Since DHS designated elections as critical infrastructure in January 2017, local, state, and federal officials have worked tirelessly – and collaboratively – to respond. In every state, we are working hard to increase our defenses, build new detection techniques and plan for and practice recovery from possible incidents. We have also engaged private sector partners, non-profits and universities to help protect our systems.
“In October 2017, a Government Coordinating Council was formed to ensure federal information and resources reach state and local election officials. The Council convened again on February 15, 2018 in Washington D.C. and we, its Executive Committee members, represent our colleagues in the elections community. The Council marks the first of its kind collaboration between federal, state and local officials to secure elections. We are formalizing information sharing protocols to ensure timely and actionable threat information reaches all election officials so they can respond to threats as they emerge….”

Actually the decentralization of States voting systems are the best deterrence….
But any system that is an on-line one CAN be compromised….
